Hello,
I have tried to enable the acoustic confirmation via the horn after finding inconsistent information on-line on whether this feature can or not be enabled in spite of the absence of a OEM alarm system. My car doesn't have the OEM alarm system (no sensors and red key in the key fob).
First I attempted the manual procedure via the adaptations in the 09 Central Control Unit. The changes were stored successfully, and the option became available in the infotainment menu. However the horn would not sound when locking the car.
Alternatively I also tried the procedure via the corresponding App in Obdeleven. In the first run it reported that no values were changed (it makes sense, the feature was already set as active, albeit manually), but running again for disabling and setting again reported success. Nevertheless the horn still does not sound when locking the car.
I have also tried to reset the car settings to factory in the infotainment menu, but no result.
Looking at the long coding, I found that there is a flag called "horn_acknowledgement_via_adaptation_configurable", which is set to "No".
The designation is very suggestive, however I did not attempt to change the value. When switching to the binary view, this label does not show.
Would it make sense to change the value of this flag? Are there any people with the same platform that have successfully enabled this feature in a car that has no OEM alarm system? In this case, what is the value of this long coding flag? Which bit does this flag corresponds to?
I also noticed (not sure if it is a software bug) that the backup from the BCM does not contain this field (and many others) parsed:
Thank you.
Cheers,
Luis Teixeira
