Hello,
I am wondering about the Dynamic Light Assist function. I am thinking about ordering a new golf and am wondering what I need in order to activate DLA? According to the configurator I need led lights, lane keeping assist and navigation. All this gear costs a lot over just the led lights... I understand you need lane keeping assist to get the better camera, but do not understand what navigation does.
So if I get only the led lights and lane keeping assist without the navigation, will I be able to turn on DLA? Or do I need something entirely different?
Thank you in advance.

It greatly depends on the market we are talking about (there were some passats with DLA-headlights, but no DLA enabled, never seen this on a Golf)- I have no overview on all markets, so speaking for the German market: You will need the 2-Wing LED-Stripe Lights for DLA. The single-wing LED "low" is not able to do DLA. You will need the "Active Lightning System", otherwise, you will find yourself swapping headlights for this.
Interestingly, nav is not mandatory here. Still, with nav equipped the DLA adds some highway functions, but nothing vital.
After all my personal opinion: When you are really wanting DLA, buy it. Buying a brand new car and trying to enable features which you not paid for, but avaliable from factory is stealing from manufacturers and developers.

I Know Mercedes uses Nav for their DLA, to check when there is a turn ahead and curve the light accordingly. Maybe VW Uses this feature too.
