Finally got single sided parking light working, but can't figure out how to turn off the little ambient LEDs in the high beam reflector.
Leutche8FL>Lichtfunktion B 8 and Leutche9FL>Lichtfunktion B 9 were already set to not active. I tried deactivating A 8 and A 9 which were set to "Versorgungsbedarf der LCM Module" and no effect. Interestingly the front side amber LED and rear side red LED were disabled by default and setting B8 & B9 to Parklicht links & rechts didn't turn them on.
I'm guessing the new all LED head and tail lights are using some slightly different channels then the old halogen & HIDs? Has anyone figured it out yet?

How did you get the single sided parking light to work...? 🤔

This is on a 2018 NAR GTI:
(9)Central Electrics
Aussenlicht_uebergreifend > Parklicht ueber LSS aktiviert > Change to "One-sided" --- Leuchte20BR > Lichtfunktion F 20 > Change to "Parklicht links(beidseitiges Parklicht aktiviert li & re)' --- Leuchte21BR > Lichtfunktion F 21 > Change to "Parklicht rechts" --- Leuchte23SL > Lichtfunktion B 23 > Change to "Parklicht links(beidseitiges Parklicht aktiviert li & re)" --- Leuchte24SL Lichtfunktion B 24 > Change to "Parklicht rechts" ---
My parking light, standard and one sided were turning off automatically after 30 minutes. I changed the "After-run for park lights" from 30 to 60 minutes and it did nothing. Finally found a solution:
Aussenlicht_uebergreifend > Standlicht-Verfugbarkeit > Changed from 6s to 24s which shuts them off after 2 hours. There's a value on that page that's something x5... So 5 x 6 = 30 minutes which was the original value, 5 x 24 = 120 minutes. I believe you can disable the timer completely but I haven't messed with it yet.
Would be nice to have separate timer values for standard vs single sided parking lights, but no idea if it's possible.

Just so we are talking about the same thing, it's turning off the inner DRL, so just the outer one is on?

No I wish, lol. Would be nice to turn off the inner DRL but I think they are wired together so they can't be controlled individually in these headlights. It's turning off the amber side LED in single side mode only which is OK, but I can't figure out how to turn off the little white LED panel mounted on the top of the high beam reflector. First pic is with both parking lights on, second is single sided, third is the little LED panel in the high beam I'm trying to turn off.

Aha... That's why it didn't make sense to me 😅😅 I don't have those kind of lights on my Norwegian car.

No ambient light inside the high beam? I know the rest of the world doesn't have our lovely side markers... 🙄

I can see them in your high beam reflector, the yellow spots are the individual diodes. They're mounted on the top of the reflector so it's really hard to see them unless you get below the headlight and look up. Maybe they're just not active in your market, but that means there must be some way to turn them off. Mine are only on with the parking lights and low beams I think, pretty sure they're off with just the DRLs.

Very interesting. In my Top Led during low beam operation, the shuter is inactive, I have already seen a few cars in which the low beam shuter was active but only about 10%, maybe it has something to do with dynamic ligh asist which my car does not have. I think that the attached shuter on about 10-20% together with low beam looks cool and I would like to know how to encode it.

I agree the ambient LEDs look nice in normal operation so I don't want to turn them off permanently, just with the parking lights/single sided parking lights. Ideally parking lights would just be the outermost lamp on each corner to reduce power consumption. Hopefully Don sees this eventually 😊

Interesting! Not sure why they'd program the ambient lights in the high beam to turn on with the high beam since it'd already be blindingly illuminated, but there's a lot of stuff that doesn't make sense with these cars. Did notice you have a diffuser on your cornering light, and I don't. 🤔

I would actually like to have those small lights in the high beam, it looks so dark on them when high beam is not on 😜😜

hi blueshift, Regarding ambient lighting in high traffic lights I noticed that in obdeleven there is a new multifunction module driver, can you check your car settings and take screenshots. I tried to look for this function yesterday but nothing worked out ;(
