HI DV52
Great writeup here, so good that i just ordered a pro kit and hopefully this sorts out my errors for LED headlights and DRL'S i also was playing around in VCDS and stuffed something up and now the reverse light is showing as an error even though its working fine, so im hoping this will solve it
however i just realized this is for a mk7, where a caddy is a PQ35 module, do you think this method or similar will work like described? i will let you know though once i get it
Cheers

Alas no - PQ35 platform cars are very different to the later built MQB platform cars. In particular for your question - PQ35 cars do not use Leuchte-sets to control exterior lamps. However, I might be able to help with your reverse light problem. With the indulgence of the global moderator for referring to VCDS on an OBD11 forum - the laptop that you use to run VCDS holds a complete record of every change that you have made with the device (a bit like the History function with OBD11). If you navigate to C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Debug directory on your laptop - you should find 2 x files called AdpLog.CSV and CodingLog.CSV. As the names imply, the former file is the change log for adaptation channels and the latter file refers to changes to long-code. Open these files and you should find details of what changes were made to your reverse light - simply restore these values to the "from" setting. Don

Hi Don,
My Low beam LED headlights on an B9 US-spec are pretty dim. I tried to find in the 09 Central Electronics the Low Beam PWM on/Off selection or Low Beam dimming value with no result. Can you point me into the right direction.
Thx. Ryan

audifan : Hi Ryan. "B9 US-spec"? I assume that you mean a Passat B9 - which has to be a very, very new model. I think the "marketing" date for the Passat B9 is 2024 (perhaps?) - albeit I have no idea what date VW America puts on these cars As I understand (and I may be entirely misinformed because "Yankee" cars are as rare as hen's teeth down here in the very deep South), the B9 is built on a modified form of the MQB platform - but I'm not sure what modifications actually apply. So, with this caveat and based on how MQB platform cars have been built in their later models, I would be surprised if the LED headlights were controlled by the hex09 module (the module that OBD11 calls "central electrics"). Although the hex09 module is still a key module in MQB cars, there has been a shift away from headlight control in later model incarnations. Instead, headlight control has been given its own discrete module - which is generally called "Light Control Module" (not surprisingly).
It would be interesting if you posted a copy of a SCAN for this car - I suspect that somewhere in report, you would find 2 x modules (Left/Right car-side) that have full CAN registration and that are labelled with a TLA like "LCM" (maybe?).
Now, the bad news is that if LCM modules do indeed exist on this car - it is highly likely that OBD11 won't be able to read (and therefore won't be able to change coding values in) these modules!! Unfortunately this has been the case on earlier model MQB platform cars!

Hey Ryan aka The Man, So I have a 2012 Audi A3 CBEA TDI American Spec if that’s also needed. I’ve read threw this whole topic and I’m probably over thinking it as I tend to do things. Î basically put LED bulbs from DeAuto in the canbus ones and of course they don’t work. My question is when I look at the chart at the beginning of this thread I see on the left side German right side English. Ok so when I go in the app on iPhone and click on Central Electronics do I then go to adaptations? Then from there it says channel is that where I’m supposed to resort back to the chart at the beginning of the thread? I don’t want to go pressing buttons and jack something up…..these bulb out warnings are about to make me go coo coo for Coco Puffs!!!

^^^^^ hmm...... if by the "chart at the beginning of the thread" with "on the left side German right side English" you mean my table for the l asttype channel on Leuchte-sets - then I suspect that you will need to resist the "coo coo for Coco Puffs" effect for quite a long time (alas)
So, here's the thing: a "2012 Audi A3 CBEA TDI" is built on a Volkswagen Group A5 design, PQ35 platform. This design/platform is the same as used on a Golf mk5 and a Golf mk6 and your car is what's called an Audi mk2 (8P).
Car's on this part of the forum are built on a MQB platform (which is very different) and they use modules with the newer UDS/ODX protocols
On older style modules that are installed in P35 platform vehicles (like your Audi mk2), the adaptation channels are a group of numbers (they are NOT words like in UDS/ODX modules) and importantly these older style modules DON'T use Leuchte-sets to control the car's exterior lights!
Bottom-line: the "chart at the beginning of the thread" doesn't apply to your (older) car - maybe ask your question in the appropriate part of the forum (i.e. Audi A3 - 8P/FM)

Hi Don. So i have changed all the interior lights to LED (map reading light, backseat light, boot light) and they work fine except for then i turn on the car. after a few seconds i hear a buzzing from the map reading lights only (all 3 LEDs) might be the canbus? My new LED high beam did the same untill i changed the Leuchte-set to LED after some trial and error, but havent been able to do the same for interior lights. i've been fideling with Leuchte30 without luck so far, i hope you can help me with your knowledge. Alex: Hi. Third party LED lamps are clearly non-OEM - so their design and operating characteristics vary greatly. This makes it difficult to be precise regarding what's causing this behavior. As for the problem being "CANbus" - it really depends what you mean by this term. Technically "CANbus" refers to the 5 x high-speed networks that form the central communication spine for the modules in the car. So the problem is unlikely to be related to these network.
More probably, the buzzing might be related to the internal construction of the LEDS - I'm guessing, of course! I suspect that the Pulse-Width-Modulation (PWM) frequency that's embedded in the power supply for the light is somehow reacting with the internal LED components in the lamps. PWM is the principle that the car uses to change lamp illumination levels
Yes, Leuchte30 INNENLICHT A68 is the Leuchte-set that controls these lamps. Maybe try changing the Lasttyp channel setting to one of the options that contain the word "LED". Also experiment with the dimmwert AB (range 0-127)

Hi Don. Thanks for your answer, I will play around with the Lasttyp's in Leuchte30 INNENLICHT A68 and see what happens when I get home from work. If I get it resolved I'll make a new thread explaining in more detail, so anyone with the same problem can get it fixed Your the goat Don Alex

Hi there,
I have a 2018 Tiguan in Canada and have installed LED without canbus adaptor to replace the stock halo.
How I can program this?

OK - thanks for the information. The Leuchte-sets that control the low-beam lamps on a MQB platform car like a mk7/7.5 are: - Leuchte6ABL LC5 - Left-side
- Leuchte7ABL RB1 - Right-side
So, the underlying problem with this matter is that 3rd party lamps like those used in this case are by definition, non-OEM. This means that it's anyone's guess what electrical characteristic these LED lamps have (and in particular, how well these non-OEM lamps can tolerate the Pulse-Width-Modulation signal that is embedded in VW's LED-waveform)
Anyway, with the caveat above, you could try telling these 2 x Leuchte-sets to no longer operate the lamps as incandescent lights and instead to use an LED type power-supply: The way that this is done is change the 2 x adaptation channels as shown below (on each Leuchte-set) like this: - Lasttyp = 5 LED Abblendlicht
- Dimmwert AB = 127
Please advise if my suggestion works and if it does, maybe include details of the new LED lamps to help others who are considering the same retrofit

Hi I'm new here! Anyone know how to turn off the error message when changing the front parking lights to the led light on a Seat Ibiza 2016
I went into Central Electric's - Adaptation then Leuchte2SLVLB22 and Leuchte3SLVRB36
Am I right on it?
What should I choose then if I'm right on it & what is the magic number to activate the change, note 31347 it didn't work when I tried?

dv52 (Australia) Exactly what are we trying to achieve with these two values when installing LED bulbs? Lasttyp = 5 LED Abblendlicht Dimmwert AB = 127 Eliminate some kind of error? Get them to give more light? Thanks!

sergi0dj : If you read the post to which I responded - @ djnismo problem was that he/she retrofitted LEDs to a car that was factory coded for incandescent lamps. By definition, the new lamps are invariably non-OEM - which means that their operating characteristic will vary greatly. Sometimes retrofitted LEDs work OK with no errors - but sometimes they do not (it's a bit of a gamble and price is no indicator) Anyway - the Leuchte-sets in the central electrics module on MQB platform cars have separate operating modes for incandescent and LED lamps (the former is analogue control and the latter is digital control) and their on-going fault monitoring variables differ. The appropriate control mode is programmed into the module on the vehicle assembly-line according to the car build. If the retrofit LED doesn't report an error, it's entirely your choice whether to make changes. I happen to believe that it's better to drive the car's lamps with the correct control mode in the central electrics module. IMO, doing this is more technically correct (from an engineering perspective), it's a more efficient way to operate the lamp, the fault monitoring variables are more tailored to the characteristics of the lamp and it's a very easy thing to do! But this is my personal preference - however and as I say, it's entirely your choice if there are no errors!!

Hello, i have a problem with my led tail lights. Recently i bought them, they re original golf R non-facelift tail lights and after installation and some coding i found that my inner turn signals doesn't work but the outter ones do. My car is a 2013 model from Germany and it came with halogen bulb from factory. can someone help me please?

Yes, your problem is perfectly understandable and the solution is NOT coding! Think about the original halogen tail-lights that were factory fitted to this car. The OEM halogen tail-lights did NOT have inner turn-signal lamps - they only had ONE turn-signal lamp per car-side on the outer tail-lights
This means that when the car was built - the wiring loom from the central electrics module to the tail-light connectors on the boot lid didn't include a wire for the inner tail-lights. VW is not known for providing any more copper in its cars than is absolutely necessary!!
That's why when you fitted the Golf R LED tail-lights, the inner blinkers don't work!! So, to solve this problem, you need to install the additional wires. There are 2 x alternatives:
- The OEM method is to run new wires from the central electrics module to the inner turn-signal lamps and enable new Leuchte-sets to power the new wires - but this is a non-trivial exercise.
- Probably an easier fix is to run a wire on each car-side from the outer turn-signal lamp to the inner turn-signal lamp and power the inner lights from the outer lights

Hi all. Am new here. I have a 2010 scirocco and recently installed aftermarket led tail lights. All functions work well except the brake light will flicker once in a while. How can I resolve this issue?
Thanks for the help!
