Hello everyone, I have checked the thread and it is not very clear to me, I have a 2018 Audi A1, I have changed the reversing halogen bulbs for some LED bulbs and I think of a molten bulb error, I have connected OBDeleven and I get into the module 09 but it doesn't give me the option to choose the bulb to “tell” it is led. I find what I attach in the image.-

Gracias!!

Si! Gracias!!

|
Post by sergiotfe on May 10, 2020 10:32:45 GMT

Saludos!!

Good day. I have a 2014 Golf Mk7 1.4TSI Highline from Japan. I installed the depo led taillights with harness. I used the app to code. But it was incomplete. I had everything but parking lights. I was able to figure out the park light and the reverse light and the brake light and the indicator on the inner lights. I now have two reverse lights. No rear fog. I cannot get the indicator on the outer lights. And whenever I press the brakes the hazard comes on. I have been at it for a few days now. Do you have an idea of how I can fix this? Thank you for your assistance in advance. www.dropbox.com/s/u58xqorjgssgwtp/Photo%20May%2008%2C%205%2020%2033%20PM.jpg?dl=0

I'm dumb. That said, I have been looking for days on how to code out led's for reverse lights. US spec 17' Passat R-line. Best I have found is my car uses "channels" to access coding. Can anyone point me in a direction of where to start/look? This is all I learned at this point lol and I am not even sure I got this much correct...
"The basic problem is that you have been reading this thread which basically pertains to modules that use UDS/ODX protocols - whereas the equipment in your 2 x MY10 cars use older style control modules. Adaptation channels in these older style modules use numbers, not names! S0 - none of the stuff here is compatible, alas"
"Where I am getting stumped is I know I need to open Central Electrics (Module 9) and then adaptations, I am then presented with a menu that is asking for what channel to open"
If I high-jacked this, I am sorry, I just don't know where else to look, not trying to be lazy!

Can anyone point me in a direction of where to start/look? This is all I learned at this point lol and I am not even sure I got this much correct... hmm......... I suspect that you are not "dumb" (there's a huge difference between being dumb and simply not knowing stuff)!!- Perhaps "persistent", or "dogmatic", or "dedicated" - maybe? "The basic problem is that you have been reading this thread which basically pertains to modules that use UDS/ODX protocols - whereas the equipment in your 2 x MY10 cars use older style control modules. Adaptation channels in these older style modules use numbers, not names! S0 - none of the stuff here is compatible, alas" Arhhh...... I see that you have quoted my words!!! My apology for not being clearer in my original response "Where I am getting stumped is I know I need to open Central Electrics (Module 9) and then adaptations, I am then presented with a menu that is asking for what channel to open" So, lets start with some "basics" - your " US spec 17' Passat R-line" is otherwise know as a Passat NMS model and it was specifically made for the North America and China markets. The car was built on what's called a VW411 platform which was originally designed way back in 2012.
Now, given that I live way down on the other end of the planet - I have never actually seen a physical NMS platform Passat - but I understand that the same design for the car persisted in America until 2019. This means that notwithstanding that your car has a 2017 build date, your car uses control modules that rely on 2012 technology! The control modules in current model VW cars use what's called UDS/ODX protocols which is the next generation technology to your Passat NMS.
On today's VW cars - when a OBD11 user selects the Central electrics module, then adaptation (channel), he/she is presented with a list of channels that have word-based descriptors. On non-UDS/ODX control modules (like your Passat), there are no word based descriptors- instead, these older modules contain a table of numbered channels.
So, on your Passat, navigating adaptation channels is much more cryptic because the OBD11 user needs to decipher what the function is for each numbered adaptation channel. I can't help with this task because I concentrate on UDS/ODX modules only. I suggest further research using Mr. Google.

Hello! Will there be any consequences after installing LED bulbs in fog lights? On octavia a5 FL, the keys on the BCM unit burned out. Thanks in advance for your reply.

@artenus: Hi
Your Audi A5 is built on a MLB platform - ALL the cars in this part of the forum use MQB platform. Maybe ask your question in the A5 forum
