Hi,
I've recently noticed that the speed limits no longer showing on the Sat Nav maps where in the past I'm sure I've seen them.
I had previously installed (via the app) the Traffic Sign Recognition feature, but having used it for a few weeks I found the restricted message you get shortly after starting a journey became a bit annoying so I then removed (via the app) the feature.
Does anyone have any idea's why I no longer see the speed limit on the Sat Nav itself and how I can get it back so it shows on the Sat Nav system itself?
I assume there is still no fix for the "restricted message" - I have a 2014 model with the MIB1 version of the Sat Nav (5.8" screen).
Thanks Steve

No there is no fix (nor will there ever be from what i understand) for the MIB1 Problem other than wasting large amounts of dosh on a new system (MIB2 or Third Party). Have you checked through the settings to see if there is anything to turn on / off for this.
Did you do a backup before you make the change if yes then do a compare and see what changed and try turning bits on to see what happens.
Sorry cant give a proper answer but i have the system on and just ignore the warning.

Thanks for the reply.
The only change I can see from the history is:
Long coding Control unit: 5F Information Control Unit Old value: 04730301FF0A000021111101000800002F0101060100010046 New value: 04730301FF0A000021111101000800002F0101060100010086
The only difference is on byte 24, old value 46, new value 86.
I tried changing the value by changing bit 7 to bit 6 but the change was not accepted.
Does anyone know what the difference is between these 2 figures and if it’s anything to do with the app related to the traffic sign recognition?

Byte 24 changed from 46 to 86 which means you originally had Bit 6 ticked and changed it to Bit 7 ticked. The only descriptions I can find are those below but they are currently not mapped to specific bits as they are found in the shortcut version. byte_24_Emergency_Call Off, On byte_24_Voice_Control_System. Not activated, activated byte_24_Navigation_System Not activated, activated byte_24_WLAN_Module Not activated, activated byte_24_Import_Media_Data Not activated, activated byte_24_vza Not activated, activated byte_24_psd Not activated, activated Did it give you a reason why it would not accept the change and did you try doing it under a different diagnostic mode

Thanks for the information.
I just tried changing the coding again and this time it has been accepted, very odd!! I’ve done a scan and no error code.
Looking at the long coding (1), I’m sure it has changed the byte_24_vza to activated. Any idea what this does???
I’m keen to go for a drive now but I’m on child duty so can’t at the minute.

Sorry no, dont know what these things do, all i have done is recorded all the options and bit by bit (no pun intended) I am working my way through them to try and work out what they do.

I’ve now done a reset on the menu for the Sat Nav to original settings. Having gone back into the setup of the Sat Nav and I can see a “traffic signs” option ticked, which I can’t recall seeing before the change. I daren’t change the coding back just in case it doesn’t accept it back again.
I also noticed looking through the history the coding for the information unit changed at the same time I removed the traffic sign recognition through the app. I can’t recall making any other changes at the time and there is no way I would have changed this particular code anyway.
I’ll check tomorrow to see if it now picks the traffic signs up. I could on the other hand be looking at completely the wrong thing!

.....just following up, the change has sorted my issue and I now have the speed limits showing on the sat have screen.
The only thing I can think of is that the app for the traffic sign didn't 100% put the original settings back.
Thanks Cupra280 for your reponses.
