Hello, i saw in the Audi A3, S-Line Quattro 2016 a setting inside engine -> adaptations -> and search "start stopp" there was 2 settings like "set" and "set off" can anyone tell me what this does ? can you also permanenlty turn this off with this way or does it only works with the "voltage settings unside Control Unit 09" or do it works the same as i would just press the A button ?
thank you

In my opinion you should use voltage method in unit 19.

^^^ repxl: I agree with Krystian. The StartStop (SS) facility in all MQB platform vehicles (like the A3) has "touch-points" into quite a few control modules: Engine (hex01), Air Conditioning (hex08), Gearbox/Transmission (hex03), Gateway (hex19) etc. Disabling SS in any one of these modules will likely result in a host of error messages because SS in the rest of the CAN network is still active. To disable SS properly, you would need to find the correct software switches in the SS master module (which I think is the Gateway module @ address hex19) - if these switches exist (in the mk7 Golf which was also MQB, byte 3 bit2-3, Byte 4 bit0, Byte15 Bit 0)
The "voltage method" and the "temperature method" (for earlier models) which are the recognized tweaks don't actually disable SS - instead they trick the SS facility into thinking that there is insufficient battery voltage (or that the temperature is too high) to stop the engine. That's why you will see the "tell" (i.e. the letter "A" with a slash) in the instrument panel when you use these tweaks - when the car is stationary. This "tell" signifies that SS is active but that it was prevented from operating because some aspect of the car's behavior prohibited the engine-stop mechanism. Don

Basically no way of having the button default to deactivated.
