hey everyone, I have a Gti with a euro switch installed. When I use the drls and the fogs, the drls dim as if they were being used with the headlights. I was wondering if there was a way to code the drls to be at full brightness when the fog lights are on and continue to dim normally when the headlights are on.
thanks

^^^^ What type of headlight fittings? Incandescent, or HIDs?

ok: So, it now depends on what country you drive in - but likely the 2 x Leuchte-sets that control the front DRLs will be : - Leuchte4TFL LB4 (left-side)
- Leuchte5 TFL RB32 (right-side)
Please fire-up OBD11, go to adaptation, search for "4TFL"
and select Leuchte4TFL LB4
Are the setting the same as this: Leuchte4TFL LB4 Lasttyp 4> 9 - allgemeine Glühlampe 27W; auch H15
Lampendefektbitposition 4 > 48 Fehlerort mittleres Byte DTC-DFCC 4 > 43 Lichtfunktion A 4 > Tagfahrlicht Lichtfunktion B 4 > not active Dimmwert AB 4 > 100 Lichtansteuerung HD AB 4 > Always Lichtfunktion C 4 > Blinken links aktiv (beide Phasen) Lichtfunktion D 4 > not active Dimmwert CD 4 > 0 Dimming Direction CD 4 > minimize Lichtfunktion E 4 > Standlicht vorn (Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht) Lichtfunktion F 4 > Parklicht links (beidseitiges Parklicht aktiviert li & re) Dimmwert EF 4 > 31 Dimming Direction EF 4 > maximize Lichtfunktion G 4 > not active Lichtfunktion H 4 > not active Dimmwert GH 4 > 0 Dimming Direction GH 4 > maximize

OK - try this: Leuchte4TFL LB4Lichtfunktion G 4 > Nebellicht links (not active) Dimmwert GH 4 > 100 (0) Leuchte5 TFL RB32Lichtfunktion G 5 > Nebellicht rechts (not active) Dimmwert GH 5 > 100 (0)
bracketed values are default settings

Hey, I just tried it and it does seem to work. However, when the headlights are on and a turn on the foglights, the DRLS stay at 100% brightness. Just to clarify, I was hoping that the DRLS would stay at max brightness when only fogs are on. Not when the headlights and fogs are on.
Thank You

Just to clarify, I was hoping that the DRLS would stay at max brightness when only fogs are on. Not when the headlights and fogs are on. Thank You hm............ OK-this is a little different to my understanding of your wants. Do this then:
Leuchte4TFL LB4 Lichtfunktion E 4 > Nebellicht links Lichtfunktion F 4 > not active Dimmwert EF 4 > 100 Dimming Direction EF 4 > maximize Lichtfunktion G 4 > Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht, Positionslicht, Begrenzungslict) Lichtfunktion H 4 > not active Dimmwert GH 4 > 31 Dimming Direction GH 4 > maximize
Leuchte5 TFL RB32
Lichtfunktion E 5 > Nebellicht rechts Lichtfunktion F 5 > not active Dimmwert EF 5 > 100 Dimming Direction EF 5 > maximize Lichtfunktion G 5 > Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht, Positionslicht, Begrenzungslict) Lichtfunktion H 5 > not active Dimmwert GH 5 > 31 Dimming Direction GH 5 > maximize

I tried it and it does not seem to work. When it is just the headlights that are on it is fine, but once I turn on the fog lights, the drls go to the brighter setting we set before. I want the drls to stay that bright when it is just the drls and fog lights on, like they are right now. The change I want is for them to dim back to the original setting when it is drls, headlights, and fog lights on. Very confusing to explain, let me know if you dont understand what I am saying.
-Thank you for working with me

Perhaps it might be better if we distinguish the Lighting functions for the lamp. What you call the "DRL" is in fact a multi-function lamp: as set by the factory the lamp performs three different functions as follows:
- During daylight hours it is a DRL and the illumination is 100%
- During daylight hours it performs "DRL Wink" (i.e. the lamp switches-off on the side that the turn signal indicates) and the illumination is 0%
- During night-time and/or when the low-beam lamp is switched-on it operates as a Parking light and the illumination is 31% (this lowered level is required because the reflector in the lamp housing doesn't have the correct cut-off characteristics for night-time operation at 100% illumination)
I've added a fog-light function to the lamp with an illumination of 100%
This is how my 2 x suggestions should differ:
1st suggestion:DRLs-on during daylight = 100% illumination DRL-Wink during daylight = 0%
Parking lights-on with low-beams = 31 % illumination Fog light-on = 100% illumination Parking lights-on with Low-beam and Fog light-on = 100% illumination 2nd suggestion:DRLs-on during daylight = 100% illumination DRL-Wink during daylight = 0% Parking lights-on with low-beams = 31 % illumination Fog light-on = 100% illumination Parking lights-on with Low-beam and Fog light-on = 31% illumination Please indicate what you want to happen - as simply as possible and with the least number of syllables!!

Right now my car does what the 1st suggestion says. It sounds like the 2nd suggestion is what I want to do! I want the parking lights to be 100% when only the fog lights are on I want the parking lights to be 31% when the headlights and the fog lights are on. And keep the 31% when just the headlights are on Right now I have parking lights to 100% when fog lights are on 31% when the headlights are on 100% when the headlights and fogs are on
