I changed the rear brake pads and got a parking brake fault. The obdeleven shows the fault and clears other faults, but under the parking brake it says implausible signal and does not show any basic settings. How do I get the parking brake to retract?

I would say you did something wrong while changing the pads. Check if there are any plugs you've missed.

Hello, new owner of 2012 touareg tdi. I too have problem with this module (53 parking brake) Obdeleven see module when scanning, and didn't report any errors. Problem is I cannot do backup (all other modules succesfully backup), and if I go to basic setting, output test or adaptation program crash or freeze. Does anybody else have this symptoms, or is something wrong with my module. Device is nextgen pro version.

Hi I have similiar issue. Unfortunately cannot fix myself. In my case I pressed out of curiosity in settings "electro mechanical parking break, erase active counter" assuming that it will reset some errors marked green. But instead it eraged all codings of the unit and I am driving with alarm. On internet I have found long coding value, something like 02 04 02 00. I can set first and second groups. But 3rd group whatever I do it remains the same. my is currently 02 04 00 00

Had exact issue a week ago.
The way I resolved it is by running the bleeding test under basics settings.
If not I can give you my long code.

By the way to do full programming you need to go to output test and do break grinding. But unfortunetly that function is not yet available in OBDEleven.
