Hello OBDEleven community,
Seeking some help. I own a 2016 Mk7 Golf R in the United States. I had an Ecohitch branded hitch installed on my car, and have a hitch-mounted bike rack attached. No wiring harness is installed, as I do not intend to tow. Just wanted my bikes behind the car versus a roof rack. Is there any method to silencing only the rear parking sensor beeps and/or deactivating only the rear parking sensors while maintaining all other functionally including Park Assist display on the infotainment screen, use of the front sensors, and avoiding any faulting conditions? The beeping while reversing is annoying, even with the tone volume set to the lowest setting in the infotainment screen (volume level 1). Any ideas?
I have explored any/all long coding adaptations viewable in my OBDEleven app and don’t see any easy way of accomplishing what I’m trying to do. I’ve also searched the forums for hours and Googled until my eyes hurt. Thanks in advance.

Have you checked the adaptations? and if you cant find anything just disconnect the rear speaker wire

No Problem, it might show a fault on the pdc module but sensors should keep working

just seen this one, my car is very similar to your so hopefully this may help. Control unit: 76 Parking Assistance Adaptations: Speaker volume for rear park assist: Stage 7 Speaker frequency for rear park assist: Stage 4 Speaker volume for front park assist: Stage 4 Speaker frequency for front park assist: Stage 6 Audio reduction request: On Park assist activation tone: On
have you tried changing these values to see if they help solve your problem. I suspect they are changed when you update them on the screen but give it a go.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but did you ever get this figured out? I just bought a MK7 Golf R with the DAP and the beeps in reverse are driving me nuts.

Go to Control unit: 76 Parking Assistance - then select adaptation, search for Speaker volume and select Speaker volume for rear park assist - lower the Stage number as desired. Repeat for Speaker volume for front park assist Don

Thanks for the reply. I tried this, and I can only bring the volume down to level 1. So while they are a little quieter they are still there. I'd like to completely silence them if possible.

Click the pencil bottom right, scroll down, tick the box for 76 Parking Assistance

WHAT IS WRONG?
i cleared app data and logged back into my pro account and still doing the same, it also added a handful of faults too.

^^^^marc: Hi. It's difficult to be precise because of the general nature of the problem. Post-up a copy of your scan report-so we can see some details about how your car is configured. If you don't know how to do this - see below: After you receive the email from the steps above, simply cut-and-paste the report here Don
