I have a fault that won't clear after installing and coding the MK7.5 Euro OEM tail lights. The tail lights function perfectly but I have a dash light error that says "Fault: Vehicle Lighting" and in OBDeleven the fault says "Control Module Incorrectly Coded" with a fault code of U101400.
For a little bit of background the harness I received from BEC came with the wrong instructions. The wire colors changed between the instructions I had and the harness I received. The red/yellow and red/white wires were switched on my harness but not in the paper instructions I received. After installation and coding, the lights were all messed up - passenger running lights didnt work and passenger inner amber was permanently stuck on even when the lights were off. After about 11 hours of fustration, I figured out by looking at other diagrams posted on here that the wires weren't going into the right pins. After cutting and splicing the wires to the right pins, the tail lights worked perfectly but this fault and dash light wouldn't clear. I checked and rechecked the coding on OBDeleven. Everything is coded perfectly, the lights function as they are expected, and ever other setting matches my backup. BMC acknowledged that the instructions had updated but they didnt send the right ones. The sent me the updated instructions and sure enough the wire colors had changed on the new instructions to the correct colors.
I took it to a shop with a VCDS and they confirmed that everything is coded correctly and said that the error is weird, it doesn't come on right away on startup but a little after and it says something about the right rear brake light. Today I just redid every connection from my cut and splice job and everything still lights up as it should but the error persists.
Here's some screen grabs of the fault in OBDeleven and the dash fault. I've also attached my obdeleven history.
Can any one help me with what this might be? This has been a month-long ordeal so far.
