just replaced my 8k module to the PLA module and i just cannot code it with obd eleven. it says failed each time i try to change something. does this mean the new park assist module is faulty or is it just a bug? it says (31) function not available

You tried clearing the app data on the android? no but i will try that tomorrow, i did try to reopen the app and turn ignition off and back on in the car but it didnt seem to work. i think i'll put the old module back. but what can cause this error?

I did almost the same (Upgrade from PLA2 to PLA3), after clearing the app data, everything worked. Seems like the local database is not capable of handling changing ECUs.

I dunno what causes it, but it sometimes gets confused,

^^^ hmm..... I don't have access to the ETKA database, but isn't PLA3 upgrade reliant on the correct version of other control modules - like the ABS module (I think)?

Hi Don,
yep, you need a newer ABS module to support Maneuver Braking - plus you need a coding in the ABS - PLA3 alone should work as long as there is support in the instrument cluster for the renewed graphics. Disabling Maneuver Braking in the Adaptions should not cause any error message with the ABS. I have retrofit PLA3 to an ABS with 5Q0614517CH including Braking.
But this still does not resolve why ofektal8 ist unable to connect to the ECU.
As said, I had the same issue when switchung the Parking Aid: Removing all app data solved this. There should be a thread where I played around with switching ECUs while OBD11 was connected.

didnt know you need a new abs module. but ill give it a shot. i installed the 8k module back since the other one wasnt cooperating, i sent some screenshots so you can see what i mean

Hey guys,
Which ABS and park assist modules are required for manoeuvre braking? I have a 7.5 with PLA and all driver assist systems and have manoeuvre braking in my adaptions but OBD11 won’t let me activate the function - what else is required/other coding for activating it?

Alex: PLA3 (5QA919298) with Index B or more should work. Without any index is not working at all. I am unsure about Index A. ABS: 5Q0614517CH did work. Even when the ABS is unsupported, maneuver braking is codeable, but has no effect (Instead, the ABS will throw errors, as the PLA3 is requesting something unsupported or not enabled by coding)
ofektal: Has the module been parametrized by the dealer or is it a used part? If not, the module will very likely not accept any coding. If parameters are set on the module: Try to copy your old coding in the plain-text-coding all at once - they should match between modules. Your PLA is having errors in memory which could be interesting.

Thanks for that!
I have PLA 3.0 and the correct parking assistance module but it’s index A and my ABS module is 5Q0614517AH - will I need to update both to have maneuvre braking? Is the physically updating the module or is it a firmware update?

The AH should work - but ABS is one big mystery.
I have scanned through some data: Index A is said not to have Maneuver Braking.
You could update the module with VCP, but you will have to reparametrize it - which is currently not possible, as the parameters are not avaliable.
Maybe you can check the ABS coding: Byte27 Bit 1 should be off (PLA2 Braking), Byte 24, Bit5 (PLA3 Braking) should be enabled. If not, maybe its Bit 6 (This might have to do with the transmission) enabled

My coding is okay in the ABS module for PLA 3.0 braking - I have DSG 7 and enabling Bit 6 didn’t work.
I have maneuvering brake function as an adaption under the parking assistance module but it says ‘function cancelled, marginal conditions have not been met’ - could this mean that I can code it in with my current modules?

No i havent been to the dealer at all, the module is a used part. can this be done with obdeleven? it might work. if not i will just buy a new module

UPDATE: just finished checking the wiring and im pretty sure everything is good. but the new module fks up my car. 1) after connecting it i cannot code it no matter what (31 function not available) 2) when it is connected i cant access the long coding in 5f 3) after doing a scan of the car and trying to clear codes it wont let me clear the codes from the park assist module.
here is a scan of the NEW park assist module : 76 Parking Assistance
System description: PARKHILFE PLA Software number: 5Q0919298K Software version: 0054 Hardware number: 5Q0919298 Hardware version: H12 Serial number: 39461724100047 ODX name: EV_EPHVA2CAU3700000 ODX version: 003021 Long coding: 0000000000
Trouble codes: U101300 - Control module not coded static U110F00 - (Sub) function cannot be performed static U110F00 - (Sub) function cannot be performed static
and here is a scan after putting the 8k module back:
76 Parking Assistance
System description: PARKHILFE 8K Software number: 5QD919294E Software version: 0054 Hardware number: 5Q0919294A Hardware version: H03 Serial number: 64931727701821 ODX name: EV_EPHVA18AU3700000 ODX version: 002026 Long coding: 0031151011
Trouble codes: No trouble codes found
im really clueless, i dont know what to do. can someone please help me?

OBDELEVEN Admins PLEASE RESPOND. This here is a user forum. If you want to contact the admins(for application issues only) use the inapp function. If i see correctly you wanna change your ECU 76. Have you checked if that the ECU fits your model?

Have you checked if that the ECU fits your model? I've tried contacting the admins and they dont respond. it should. the kit i bought is a kit for a mk7 golf and when i look for park assist module for mk7 golf it shows the same module. since connecting the new module to my car it caused a lot of faults to appear. now even in my bcm

The fault codes you posted are only because the ECU is not coded properly. Maybe you could try another diagnostic mode.

Maybe you could try another diagnostic mode. the ecu cannot be coded. i try to change something and it says 31 Function not available. but now a new problem appeared. i can no longer access the long coding of 5F and Central Electrics. Can this be related to the Park Assist module in any way?

Could be but no guarantee. Looks like there are some serious problems with your car/device. Have you tried clearing the cache of OBDeleven and bluetooth?

Have you tried clearing the cache of OBDeleven and bluetooth? yes, it did not work. all this problems started when i first connected the new module. tho i cant see any physical connection between the park assist module and bcm. can it be just something not coded properly? or it has to be a physicall or electrical issue?

If you know someone with vcds you could ask him to try it then you'll know if it's a OBDeleven problem or one in general.

Tomorrow i will check pins 5 and 15 on the Can maybe they are loose or something happend to them. in the end i will just buy a new park assist module. and if it wont work im screwd

When the module is unparametrized (fresh from factory) it will not accept coding - this is common and could be fixed with VCP if there were fitting parameters. If not, you will have a problem, as the only way to parametrize is ODIS then - and this will block the parametering, as the module is not factory equipped. These are common dead ends in the retrofit-community.
Altogether, this should not tamper the other modules on the canbus. This might be an OBD11 issue when switchting between modules and there is a "bogus" one like the unparametrized parking aid, messing up the messages. For the easiest check: Remove the parking aid module, remove the obd11 - wait about 20 minutes with the car locked to get all modules to standby - then retry. There will be a lot of errors in bcm, infotainment, etc... but comm should be restored
