I recently retrofit puddle and emergency lights into my 2015 A3. The rear doors required adding the rear door modules and coding them appropriately. This took me some time to figure out, and somewhere in my experimentation I mistakenly turned off the illumination to the rear window switch and door locks.
At first I thought that I had damaged some wiring, but running an output test (Rear Door control unit - Output - Lighting) shows that everything is intact. All of the buttons light up as expected during the test. In addition, the lock buttons and window switches operate normally, they just aren't lit.
I have tried to go back through my history, specifically looking at the Rear Door and Gateway control units, but I can't see anything that jumps out as something that would cause the rear door illumination to be turned off.
Is there something I'm missing? Is there a specific setting that would cause the rear door illumination to be turned off? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same issue but with the front doors. Anyone have any joy with sorting it?

Hi. I'm not sure of the fix for your problem, but on the rear door modules - Byte 1, Bit 2 is the software switch for "door exit light" and Byte 1 Bit 3 is "inside door handle light". Are these set on both modules? Don
