Not really. There is no sensor in your car for oil temp, as far as I know. But my car is no GTI ... Matthew might know that for his GTI.

There must be some kind of Sensor because Kufatec EMFA, Polar FIS oder MFA XP can read it. But also i think your R32 doesnt have less Sensors than a GTI.

You have to install a sensor to show it. Ask Svenni from MFA XP.

Sorry, some People say, there is a temp sensor integrated in the oil-level sensor. Ross-tech writes it is channel 134 value 1 in the Engine Data: www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/m_blocks/Can you please try and give a short reply if it works?

Yes, it works. It shows also on the measurement "Temperature". Thanks for your effort!

Wunderbar. I tried it and it works in my car, too. There is an info button which shows the meaning of the values. It is in english but not shown when you see the values. Kind of strange

There must be some kind of Sensor because Kufatec EMFA, Polar FIS oder MFA XP can read it. My Kufatec BASIC plus, can't read oil temperature on my MK5 Golf GTI. It just shows a fixed -60*C. The Kufatec page warns that oil temperature is NOT available for the MK5 Golf. I'll check VCDS tomorrow to see what measuring block value you need to be looking at. Have a read, below www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/m_blocks/Edit: I saw Hansdampf's post after typing the above

Okay, it seems there are MK5's with and without sensor ... I realized, that my MK5 has a sensor, when I read this thread.

I confirmed last night that my MK5 Golf GTI (BWA engine code) does not have a oil temperature sensor. It only has a sensor for the low oil level

I recently upgraded my MK5 GTI Highline cluster to a MK6 Golf-R one (with the necessary immobilizer work done using AVDI). I bought the VDOEDITOR software and enabled the oil temperature reading for the 24C64 chip so the oil temperature now shows on the MFD. I've also coded the analog temperature gauge to be a boost gauge instead. I've also enabled the "fuel volume to be replenished", so I know how much more petrol I'd need to top up my 55-liter tank Enabling the infamous "staging" with full backlighting was also a MUST for me ALL stock MK5 clusters support the features, but they need to be edited in EEPROM, not VCDS. If you don't have a tool like AVDI, then you would need to disassemble the instrument cluster, READ the 24C32 or 24C64 EEPROM as a BIN file so you can edit it in a tool like VDOEDITOR. You would then write these changes to your cluster, then reassemble and install in the vehicle. If you send me your BIN files, I can help some of you out with the features you want to enable. I really like seeing the temperature gauge being used as the boost gauge. The coolant temperature can be seen in the MFD (in a new menu anyway). This makes both Kufatec and PolarFIS unnecessary since the MFD shows the same things. You can view it here: skodapilot.com/vdoeditor/Google Chrome translates the site to English for me

I've been measuring Channel 134,1 with my OBDEleven and I've been under the impression that it would be my oil temperature. This is measured from MK5 2.0 FSI (BVX). (NOTE: The temperatures are before changing my thermostat and they now rise to 90 °C.)

Oil temperature should be about 100-110*C

Hello, regarding to the Post of Matthew... Can you or someone else help me enabling the boost gauge at the cooling temp gauge? Attached is the bin of the 24c32 EEPROM Thank you very much! Kind regards from Austria, Stephan
