Could you find device in Bluetooth setting? PIN code is 1234. Then you can try to connect in app.

Things to check / do
1/ You need strong Internet connection - if you dont have it connected it does not through an error but you cant use the app 2/ Clear both app and bluetooth data cache - does help sometimes 3/ Reboot the phone and give a few minutes before restarting (phone memory can get tired)
4/ I have found in the past that if you have your car bluetooth on or hidden then it can cause connection issues, so to start with turn off your bluetooth from your radio
Have you used the dongle before or is this the first time you have used it.

Hi, new to forum and obdeleven. I have tried the last suggestion to no avail. I get flashing yellow on the dongle and an immediate message in the app that it can't connect. It is paired, but will not connect.

Did you try the first three, you must have bluetooth and internet on or it wont work.

Thanks for the reply. I should have said I tried the last suggestions (plural)- the entire list. I have both BT and internet (strong signal with mesh located within 20 feet)available in the vehicle. Possible the device is defective?

Hi - I'm having the same issue and have tried all the same.
Dongle has a solid red light and amber flashing light.
I have used the dongle many times before without an issue, but not for a few months.
Strong Wifi, dongle paired, I have unpaired and repaired, I have turned the phone on and off and unplugged the dongle multiple times.
What am I missing?!?!

Sorry for delay been tied up on other stuff. Firstly we have seen in the past where guys/gals have set the bluetooth on the car to hidden that you cant connect to the donge. Have you tried connecting with another phone - just trying to eliminate the issue Have you tried using it on another car (I know not everybody has access to multiple vw cars but have to ask) Just to confirm before you start to try and connect you have both internet and bluetooth turned ON, Car is turned on but engine not running, All doors are closed, all equipment (Radio, USB Devices not pluged in, Interior lights etc) is off. Software loads and it just sits there trying to connect is that correct.
Some other thoughts
I presume you are using the same phone / Car as before and you have not had an android upgrade.
I presume you are running OBD11 version 0.9.4 and you took the Firmware update on the 26/06

Hey i have the same issue. After I used the dongle in one car and my tablet is in standby it won't connect to the dongle again. I have to unpaired the dongle and pair it again. Maybe a software problem? I use the dongle in my garage very often and every time after standby I have this issue. Reinstalled the app and the tablet is new only with obdeleven app. Rest is up to date on the tablet. Use the pro version.

hmm interesting not had that or seen it before either. Have you tried connecting table to the cars audio system and doing the same thing to see if its a bluetooth issue on your tablet.
For the record what tablet are you using.

I ended up working with OBDeleven customer service which resulted in a replacement via the selling vendor (excellent customer service from ECS Tuning). Haven't had a chance to try it yet - want to be careful of what step I take so that the replacement dongle code number won't affect my many credits.

Credits belong to your user account not the dongle, I have multiple Dongles / Phones/Laptops to use them but only one account which is where my credits are.
