Hey I'm fairly new to OBDEleven although I've been watching forum posts here and there for awhile. I am about to purchase an OBDEleven Pro but was wondering how it plays with the US/Canadian MK5 Rabbit 2.5. To my understanding the interface works "ok" with the MK5 Golf, and since the Rabbit is essentially an MK5 Golf I would assume there wouldn't be any issues? Just curious to see if there are any folks out there that have had issues (I'm simply looking to do light mods such as disable DRL, or increase the voltage to the low beams for DRL - that sort of stuff). Thanks!

OBDeleven will work fine with your car. You can find all the "1K" chassis documentation on Ross-Tech's wiki page which you can use with your OBDeleven device to make changes to your car.

Not to jump on this thread...but to jump on this thread... The Ross-Tech Wiki for the 1K chassis doesn't list a 2.5l engine. I'm a little worried about using that model in the OBD 11 programming setup/config. When I put in my VIN it guessed wrong (even though the VIN is usually pretty unique ). Should I be choosing Golf or Golf GT or GTI maybe? Thanks, AJ

I see your point. It doesn't matter if you choose the "wrong" option as OBDeleven will still use the correct label for your 2.5L engine in terms of the coding options. OBDeleven only needs this to see which addresses it should poll for the various modules (VCDS does the same thing in the AutoScan by chassis code). ALL cars have to have Address #01 so you can literally pick ANY car for that process. It will use the correct labels for coding when it identifies your ECU part number. Have no fear in this regard.

Thanks for the reply and the assurance.
I ordered my OBDeleven just yesterday, so I'm waiting on the actual unit to arrive. Sorry for the newbie questions.

There is no such thing as a newbie question. You just want to be sure that you are making a wise purchase. You can't go wrong with an OBDeleven dongle especially with the affordable price-point.
