Hi, I have a 2014 Passat variant R Line, I bought fairly expensive led bulbs to replace my cornering and front fogs. Most times I start the car I will see a canbus error for those bulbs, if I manually turn them on the warning goes out but if I keep the front fogs on the warning comes back. Long story short, would it be possible to delete the canbus light check for the front lights? Or can I tell the car they are Led's? Any help much appreciated

Get some resistors and wire them on. It's a 5 minute job

Go to STG 09 Coding Find bit with label "lamp diagnostic for fog light" or something similar and untick that bit.

Kinger we all started like you and we forget to share. STG I think stands for Steuergerät which means Control Unit, So from the start screen (where you run a scan) select the control unit button (Blue circle with white lines) select Control Unit 09 from the list of control units and then from the list of options (something like this) Select the Coding option. You will then be shown a screen that looks something like this and by the side of the Bit you will find some descriptions like lamp diagnostic for fog light and it will have a green tick by the side of it, just untick it and hit the the blue button to save the change. If the description is not on the current screen then use the right hand green button and check the next Byte and keep going hopefully you will find what you are looking for

Get some resistors and wire them on. It's a 5 minute job After having a good look at the long coding, I changed a few other things but never came across an option to turn off diagnostics so I went ahead and fitted resisters, as you said a 5 minute job and all is good thanks.

There is an option. But first you will have to go to module 9, then security access, then enter a code (that I can't find anywhere) and then go into adaptation. Really sucks that I can't find the code anywhere, and so far, no one is willing to help.

There is a list of security codes for each module posted on the forum
The one you want is 31347

Tried that one, no go. Which service must be selected (Diagnostics, OBD, VW etc)?

What do you mean You select your car from your garage and then control units the one you want/long coding and if it asks for a security code thats what works

In my Obdeleven app I can choose which service to use. OBD Diagnostic, VW Diagnostic, EOL etc. I know how to select my car from the carage, then control unit 9. The problem is that the long coding is very poorly labelled (to the extent that I wouldn't buy this product if I knew this beforehand) so the only real way to get past the LED error is to do this: forum.obdeleven.com/thread/413/led-lights-coding-equipped-vehiclesIn order to do that, you first have to go into module 9, then select security access, input a code and then you can start doing what you want. Whatever code I use, it never seems to work.

Have you got the Pro version and the code for it is put in after you change what you want and then press the green arrow and THEN it asks for the code. You have it back to front So its go into long coding, do it, press button, put 31347 code in, press button again, hold down for 3 secs Success.
Like a computer the usual fault is between the mouse and the chair

I think you're wrong. This isn't in long coding, but in adaptation. If you think it's in long coding, then by all means, tell me which bit in which byte to change. In order to get access to those adaptation settings you must first log in with security access code, as per Ross Tech, this forum etc. If you think I'm wrong, by all means, tell me which bit in which byte to change. My guess is: you can't.

Well I dont know I can get into module 09/Adaption or in fact ANY MODULE and to the two settings you list without inputting any security code whatever. I only have to put it in if i actually press the button to do it but as im not going to I havent pressed the button to bring up the code. Certainly havent had to put security codes in just to get in to any modules Only when it changes a setting after you have done the alterations and pressed the green arrow. Just been out to the car and tried several
Got into several modules and changed things and backed out without hitting the green button and things stayed the same and I NEVER ENTERED ANY SECURITY CODES

What exactly do you want to do because Im stuffed if I know what you want.
It is probably in long coding starting at byte 14 onwards by the look of it

What I want to do is to change the lasttyp to LED so that I won't get the CANBUS error message any longer. Using canbus resistors is unfortunately not an option for me. Literally all the guides I see talk about having to enter security access code first, then going into adaptations, not long coding. That is why I am asking you, since if there is a way to do it with long coding, I won't have to try to find out my security code (which isn't 31347).

This is what type of bulb is installed in the different lights on the car. To disable CANBUS errors, you can simply change it to LED type. Unless you have another way of doing this that works? I don't speak german, but I believe lasttyp would translate to something like load type, ie, what type of load the bulb will put on the cables.

I've seen people say we need resistors, but I have also seen many others say it can be done through adaptation, hence all the guides that exist for it. Do you have a passat? If you do, can you show me what happens when you go to Secure Access in module 9, type in 31347 and then go to adaptation?

For about the 4th time I DONT HAVE TO ENTER ANY CODES TO GET INTO ANY MODULE that I have tried to get into
If you go into settings in the APP you can disable PASSWORD REQUEST which is what you may be getting especially as 31347 doesnt work
See above for your answer and go and buy some resistors
