Anyone get this to work? Did you set mirrors control switch to passenger side? I thought you only had to set it to the right mirror while doing the coding, but I just realized that you have to leave it set to the right mirror for it to operate. After I figured this out, it works perfect! THANKS! I also appreciate how the history file shows the long coding and how it change from old to new. Now I can see exactly what changed in the coding. Very educational for me! Thanks.

this worked for me:
However, when I begin driving forwards, the mirror returns to a higher position than what I set for my driving position.

I'm not sure if you are aware, but for the mirror-dip-on-reverse tweak to work properly, the passenger side controller needs to have a memory module (not all cars have this module). Folks appear to be able to enable the tweak regardless of the presence, or absence of the memory module, but without it- the mirror has no way of remembering its starting position. Hence the observation that you have made for your car. Here's a screen shot showing how to find-out if your car has the module - it's from my car which has the memory module. Notice the results on the last two entries and the X/Y coordinates which are the return position settins. Unfortunately, I only have a screen shot from VCDS - but Admin can confirm that OBD11 can show the same data.
If your car doesn't have the memory module, the advanced measurement results will be more like the picture below. Notice that that the X/Y coordinates are "255" -which is the largest permissible value (equivalent to HexFF) and the settings for the last two entries
