I have a iPhone but seem to recall you need a mirror link supported app on you phone to make it work Or you need to root it and put some software on it

Hi Anyone know how to fully mirror a samsung s8 to the discovery media (not pro) by fully mirror i mean the actual phones screen on the display so i can use youtube facebook etc (obviously not when driving) thanks The S8 is supposed to have MirrorLink, which fully mirrors the display unlike Android Auto and CarPlay. If you go into your head unit options, it should show you if it has the MirrorLink option. If so, it’s plug and play. MirrorLink is not a widely supported standard on mobile phones, though, so while this setup may work on your current phone, it may not in the future. Android is pushing for Android Auto over ML.

Hi, I have a golf gti mk7 face lift. I got after a lot of research, to have Full Mirrorlink, and when I say full, it's full. I can use all my mobile apps in full screen in the car's mib. In motion everything works the same as when it is stopped. My phone is a Samsung s6 Edge, and the installed apps are Easy Touch, My Android Tools Pro and CarMode but without finishing the configuration wizard, so I can have the full screen whitout the annoying boots of the carmode at the left side of the screen. If someone needs details, let me know, because you have to make the appropriate settings in the My Android Tools app

Install the app and follow pictures. Once in the last page, add the apk you want to use, just put any number not already used in ID, and the correct pkgname. Once configured, configure easy touch with the apps more used and one link to start screen, so you have access to the handy screen.

When you connect your mobile with a USB, you should read a message that you need to finish the installation of carmode, but do not carry on this set up. Go direct to the easy touch button, and have fun with full mirror link.

I have a Samsung android 10 smartphone and a MK7.5 FL infotainment with connection pack (android auto/mirrorlink). I have tried different methods but only those with rooted smartphones are working. Also all old methods are useless if you have Android 10. Do you have any recommendation? Your help is welcomed.
