2013 A5 SB (8TA) MMI 3GP
I'm trying to make my front foglights come on with the Full / High beams in both stalk push and pull.
I've enabled the function to allow Fogs & Full beam on together:
Central Elec - 09 > Byte 04 > Bit 1
and now I'm stuck! I've checked through ALL adaptations and basic settings, without success.
I did learn, although enabling my cornering foglights, was a simply longcode change. Others had to make changes to adaptations also:
obdeleven.proboards.com/thread/642/enabling-cornering-lights
These options in German text are no available to me, but as I said, it works without adaptations, but would be nice to adjust.
So my system is different. So sieved the net (I've used both their and my own security codes):
Attempt 1 ---------------------------------- www.vwwatercooled.com.au/forums/f197/vcds-vag-com-codes-programmable-options-golf-mk7-84619-28.html#post1093125
From the main screen select 09-Cent. Elect
When the BMC screen opens, select Security Access-16
Enter the magic number 31347
When the main BCM screen returns, select Adaptation-10
Change the settings in adaptation channels shown in the two Tables below to the "New Value":
Left Fog-Light
Adaptation Channel Old Value New Value Choose either, or both Options
(8 )-Leuchte12NL LB45-Lichtfunktion C 12 not active Left high beam Change to implement Option 1 above
(9)-Leuchte12NL LB45-Lichtfunktion D 12 not active Lichthupe generell Change to implement Option 2 above
(10)-Leuchte12NL LB45-Dimmwert CD 12 0 100
(11)-Leuchte12NL LB45-Dimming Direction CD 12 maximize maximize
Right Fog-Light
Adaptation Channel Old Value New Value Choose either, or both Options
(8 )-Leuchte13NL RB5-Lichtfunktion C 13 not active Right high beam Change to implement Option 1 above
(9)-Leuchte13NL RB5-Lichtfunktion D 13 not active Lichthupe generell Change to implement Option 2 above
(10)-Leuchte13NL RB5-Dimmwert CD 13 0 100
(11)-Leuchte13NL RB5-Dimming Direction CD 13 maximize maximize
Notes
Note 1: The channels in the Tables above are about 70% down the list of channels on the VCDS adaptation screen
Note 2: Select the adaptation channels carefully as other channels have similar descriptions
Note 3: If the adaptation channels in the car do not have the "Old Value" indicated in the tables do not proceed with this tweak
Note 4: If LED fog-lights are installed, change adaptation channel (10) on both left and right fog-lights to 127 (instead of "100")
Note 5: Adaptation channels (11) (i.e. last row in the two Tables) should not need to be changed, but the settings should be checked
(Again, I can't find these German text adaptations anywhere)
Attempt 2 ---------------------------------- obdeleven.proboards.com/thread/1033/high-beam-fog-light (halfway down)
Option 1: fog-lights are turned-on with high-beam lights when the left-hand stalk behind the steering wheel is pushed towards the windscreen (and the rotary light switch is in "Auto", or "On" position)- i.e. the normal high-beam switch on/off process
Option 2: fog-lights are "flashed" together with high-beam lights when the left-hand stalk behind the steering wheel is momentarily pulled towards the driver .
Instructions:
Select Central electrics module @ address hex09
Select Security access
Enter the magic number 31347
Select Adaptations
Search for Leuchte12NL LB45 (Left front fog-light) and select
For Option1, or Option 2, or both - change the settings for the adaptation channels in the 1st screen shot below
Search for Leuchte13NL RB5 (Right front fog-light) and select
For Option1, or Option 2, or both - change the settings for the adaptation channels in the 2nd screen shot below
(I can't find these adaptations anywhere, but this is a lot like when i enabled my cornering fogs)
Attempt 3 ---------------------------------- www.vaglinks.com/Docs/VW/MKV/DPham00.info_VW_MKV_VAGCOM_Tweaks_And_Info.pdf
"To use the fog lights as DRLs, check byte 17, bit 4."
(No what I'm Trying to do but, OBDEleven show this as: ambient Temp Sensor )
Attempt 4 ---------------------------------- In progress
Enable Independent Fogs control with high beams
Prevents fog lights from being turned off when using high beams.
[09 – Cent. Elect.] [Coding - 07] -> [Long Coding Helper] -> Byte 14 ->[Bit 2] –> Uncheck
I'm starting to lean towards, it might be something to do with the car being set to 'EU' or UDS - KWP2000 mix I have going on
Any help will be appreciated
