I'm writing this post with 2 hopes. 1. The OBD guys or anyone else who knows see it and can shine some light on these questions and 2. So other people with these problems can hopefully stop searching now. I've searched for answers to these all over these forums and audizine, etc. I've ran into 3 other people who have the same questions
GENERAL QUESTIONS
Android based:
1. There is a difference between pairing Bluetooth devices and connecting to them. When the OBD device is plugged in, car is on, etc, my android device will pair with OBDeleven. It asks for a password (1234) and after entered it gets added to the "paired menu". If you click the OBD11 button after that to "connect" to it, it won't do it, as it would say your audi car phone or your Bluetooth headset. You pair to recognize devices and then you connect to them individually. Is this device supposed to do that? Because it has not on several different android devices. The app itself does say "connected" when the device is in bluetooth paired status, but unsure if this is the appropriate level of connection. I have unpaired all other devices and reset bluetooth and OBD app cache... it still just pairs.
2. Disruption in module (00). We have used the paired status to do some simple coding and small things here or there, but after going to any "adaptation" menu, it does not safe. For example comfort electronics (46), if you want to reset those which would be channel 00 or program a fob channel 21, after you hit 00 or 21 the channel it appears to be correct as it asks you to enter a value, but after you enter one and tap the checkmark it says to hold it down, but then when you hold it down you get an error "(00) function cancelled disruption in control module." WiFi did not disconnect, nothing happened, it just won't save any values. Is this related to question 1?
FORUM QUESTION
3. There is definitely a reoccurring question - b7's for example. Are b7 a4 s4 rs4 cabs avants sedans all considered the same 8e? Would be helpful to more people if the forum said "a4 s4 rs4 b7 (8e) than what it says now. Are there differences in the app between models? because when selecting a car, s4 or rs4 is not an option, it's just a4.
Sorry long winded.
