Been told by VW for a £250 re-calibration cost. I'm not sure what this is but looks like wheel alignment from some images/videos online.
Is it possible to re-calibrate with OBDEleven or VAG-COM ?
Engine Lost Communication with cruise control front distance range sensor Fault code: U023500 Status: Static Priority: 6 Malfunction frequency Counter: 1 Unlearning counter: 255 Engine speed 0.00 1/min Normed load value: 0.0% Vehicle Speed: 0 km/h Coolant Temperature: 70 degrees Intake Air Temperature: 57 degrees Ambient air pressure: 960 mbar Voltage terminal 30: 11.960V
Gateway Vehicle Communication Bus C Fault code: U004700 Status: Static
Adaptive Cruise Control Databus error value received reported twice Cruise control front distance range sensor Fault code: B10E7F0 Status: Static
Kind regards,

I had it a year ago, after testing it with the OBD... They of course say that it cannot be their fault...
However, I payed €175 at VW.

Thanks for the response. Do you know they did to fix the issue ?
Mine is quite intermittent, One minute it's working and the next it stops. I don't really care about it enough to pay £250 to fix something I never wanted or need.
I'm wondering if taking if disconnecting/re-connecting the sensor might do the trick.

I've had the front windscreen recalibration done, because of a new screen, drove the car onto flat ground, put a board with dots in front of it, measured the distance from the car, measured the height, then just looked at a OBD device and said it's fine, £350 charged to the insurance company, but wouldn't let me see the obd device

Thanks for your response guys, Appreciate it.
Just out of curiosity, Any chance it could not be related to the sensor itself even though the OBDEleven app is moaning about it ?
What I noticed is that the "Adaptive Cruise Control" module doesn't appear anymore within the app regardless of deleting and re-adding the car, turning ignition on/off etc...
The problem is, I'd rather not spend the rip of VW price but if the issue is elsewhere and part related, It will all fall under "warranty".
Cheers,

^^^ perhaps you should look at the OBD11 scan results from your car? The report should give you a good picture of the history of any faults in the ACC module(intermittent, or not)!

It's quite vague.
Faults went from intermittent to static so I'm thinking something is definitely up with the sensor. What's confusing me is why I cannot see the module listed once I've connected to the OBD11 app. Module being labelled as "Adaptive cruise control". The icon on the top right is just black as if doesn't recognise it anymore.
Exact codes displayed even after clearing the faults.
Engine: Lost Communication with Cruise Control Front Distance Sensor (Red) Fault: U023500 Status: Static
Brakes: Databus missing message Fault: U112100 Status: Static
Gateway: Vehicle Communication bus C Fault: U004700 Status: Static
At one point the ACC was intermittent and started to work but once ignition went on/off the fault became static (consistenly not working anymore)
When I was actually able to read the fault from the "Adaptive Cruise Control" module, I was getting the following errors:
Databus error value received
Cruise Control Front Distance Range Sensor Fault: B10E7F0 Status: Static
Thank you guys for posting and providing me with some assistance, All the best.

Just a quick update for anyone who has this issue.
I made a last minute claim to VW under my 12 month warranty. The ACC sensor was completely dead and replaced. Re-calibration and diagnostic costs were included as well as labour.

Hi nehmaan,
Just for my information, did you make any changes to your car with ODB11 before this issue? And there was no warranty problem at VW because of these changes?
Thank you !

Hi Nicco,
Sorry about the late response.
Yes I made quite a lot of changes especially to things like throttle response and starting vibration reduction. Although, Just before I dropped the car off I removed any modifications through the OBD app.
I'd recommend removing the changes in the event they void your warranty. I know a few garages who are not so picky with it but I'm sure they'll try anything to avoid paying.
Hope this help.
All the best, Nehmaan
