I have an American 2016 Passat that will be imported to Canada. I'm trying to convert the large digital speedometer on the MFD to read km/hr. I am open to any suggestions. For some reason there is no "alt speed display" anywhere in the menu. Thanks for your assistance.

Could it be
Module 17 dash Adaptions Units adjusted: Speed: Miles per hour
(I can’t try as I have a different cluster to you, sorry)

I got pretty excited there for a moment. But no dice. Everything is checked to metric but that digital speedo still comes up as mph. There has to be a way! Thanks for trying. Any other suggestions?

not my car but under Control unit: 17 Dash Board on my car there is an adaption under SPEED that is currently shown on my car as Miles Per Hour, I am guessing this can be changed.

I have that as well (under "units") but changing the speed to KPH doesn't seem to do anything. Changing any of the other options work fine however. I suspect that you are right and changing the speed units should make a difference...but no joy. Still open to suggestions. RT

Just went and checked on my car, which is a 2014 model with analogue speedo but with digital display that includes speed as well.
On my car under settings and units it shows speed and I can change from KPH to MPH and visa versa using the main screen.
I have also tried this using OBD11 and Units Adjusted when I change to KPH my digital speedo shows KPH and MPH When I change it back again.
One last thought (just have to ask) did you save the change with the little green tick and is it updated in your history. Also if you run a scan do you get any error messages.
Cheers

Thanks for the help Cupra, I don't have that option on the MFI. I can change the Temperature units and the consumption/distance units but there is nothing there for speed. I've tried again using the OBD11 and again had no luck. I can change everything else on the display...temp, consumption, km till empty etc but that once screen refuses to move from MPH to KPH. I did run a full scan which pulled no codes or error messages. I have 2 thoughts that may be related to the issue or may not but if you have any opinions I'd love to hear them: 1) My googling has found that most people have an "Alt Speed Disp" tick box in their display window. I don't have that for some reason...it just isn't there. 2) My K-Number (under 17 Dashboard/Long Coding) is set to 3 which is apparently "Rental Cars" which mine was prior to my ownership. I have no idea if this actually changes anything but it is there. Thanks again for your time,
RT

Does anybody know how to do this for a 2011 passat? It would be pretty useful, been caught speeding recently...seen on YouTube that you change settings to australia, that gives you alt speed in mfd that needs ticking, then change meeting back to mph, seems easy but im apprehensive about doing it, anybody done it? Thanks in advance

Works perfectly on 2011 passat variant, instead of changing to Australia I changed to to the rest of the world instead, just need to remember to change units back to gb. Cheers
