hmm........These faults appear often when the engine can't provide sufficient power to the air-con because of driving conditions - like when the car is driven hard during very cold/very warm weather conditions.
When the car is driven hard and the driver has also selected heavy air-con usage at the same time - the ECU has a problem; it has to choose where to direct power.
For example, the engine must decide either to deliver the power to the drivetrain, or to provide some of its power to stage-3 heating/cooling (say).
What the engine does in these conditions is to quarantine its limited power for the drivertrain - and instead provide only stage-1 heating/cooling.
When this happens, the error P171900 appears to tell the driver that some aspect of the selected air-con function has not been delivered because the functionality was limited due to Engine Control Module It's a low priority error message (level 6) and it's NOT static. I personally consider this particular error code to be more like information rather than an outright error - note: this is my opinion, rather than fact.
My advice (again a personal opinion) - keep track of these errors, rather than try to fault-find the cause. If the fault count increases significantly - then it's worth diagnosing the cause !
