I have just bought OBD11 Pro. As I would like to change my rear lights to strobing indicators, I have a 2014 GTD with LED tail lights from the factory. So I was wondering if someone might have the long coding I require to be able to carry this out . As I don't want to mess it up as I've never done it before 😂. But I have been recommended to carry out A backup before doing anything on OBD11 , Is this also correct .regards

gtd1977 : Hi and welcome to the mysterious word of OBD11 - I'm honored to be your first responder!! So, let's start by making sure that we have a mutual understanding of terms!! When you use the words "strobing indicators" - I assume that you mean Dynamic turn-signals, which is the lighting effect on the tail-lights where a string of individual LEDs illuminate sequentially when the blinkers operate!
If my assumption above is correct - then alas, it is NOT possible to alter the behavior of LED tail-lights to operate as Dynamic turn-signals via a coding change. The reason why this is so is because Dynamic turn-signal fittings have a special electronic component (called "LED chaser" circuit) that creates the sequential lighting effect. "Normal" LED turn-signal fittings do NOT have LED chaser circuits!!
As for the answer to your second question - YES indeed!! ALWAYS (capital letters for emphasis) create a Back-up of ALL modules in their virgin state before making coding changes!!
Creating a Backup may appear to be a nuisance and it is a time consuming activity. However, the value of the Backup database will become abundantly clear when (NOT "if") the loose stools in the moist brown-stuff collide with the proverbial fan blades!!
The other. very useful partner-facility that will be your coding-friend when making changes is History. After you make your first coding-tweak, I suggest that you click-on the History option to see what data resides in this facility!

Thank you for getting in touch. And giving me your advice on the dynamic . I will definitely be backing it up first
