2015 S3 (in South Korea so I’m assuming it’s EU spec)
Few months back my right headlight stopped working completely after going through a larger than expected puddle. The code then was for a bad control module (among others that will go on when the headlight doesn’t work) so I swapped the driver side module to the passenger side and it started to work normally. I then ordered one off of essentially aliexpress. After replacing it for the first few seconds on startup the whole headlight would be lit then it would flicker and only the bottom portion would stay on and the top portion would go off. Thinking it was just a cheaply made replica I ordered an OEM used one. Now replacing it with that one the full headlight would not turn on after digging and searching online I found a long coding to copy. Plugged it in and finally my headlight fully lit up but I am still stuck without adaptive headlights and a couple other odd codes. If anyone is able to help it would be greatly appreciated.

This being so, I'm confused! I assume that you replaced like-with-like and that the new module had EXACTLY the same part numbers. If this is correct, why would you think that a change in the long-code string (you don't say which module- but I assume the 55 module) would fix this problem?

Obviously from the fault codes in your post, the 55 module is unhappy with its coding - which I strongly suspect means that the long-code changes made are not appropriate.

I suggest that you return the long-code string back to the original factory settings - then clear ALL errors and make a fresh SCAN of the car and post-up a FULL copy as an ttachment. To be clear, do NOT edit the SCAN in any way before posting

Correct, there was a small amount of water that got into the headlight. The water was drained and headlights were left out for a few days to dry fully.

Yes I had replaced the module with the exact same part number with the now used OEM one.(ending in J) The aliexpress version was the “updated” part number ending in K not J. Audi told me that either would work.

So now to my surprise I have reverted it back to the original long coding when the right headlight would not even turn on, to now the headlight working with that long code. But unfortunately the adaptive headlights are not working.
I am on mobile so unsure how to send it as an attachment but this scan below is unaltered.

hmm........at least we are a step closer to fixing this problem with fewer fault codes reported in your latest SCAN data.

What is meant to happen after installing a new output module and assuming that everything is correct - is that the 55 module auto-codes the left/right side output modules. Then you need to undertake the basic setting procedures to initialize the adaptive lighting function.

As I read your fault codes - it appears that the 55 module is NOT able to communicate with either output module. I don't know why this is so, but given that the same fault applies to both car sides, I suspect more coding inconsistencies.

I'm also not sure in what form you purchased the Alliexpress module. My preference when replacing these output modules is to always buy a second-hand used module from a donor car that has equivalent characteristics. This ensures that the replacement output module has the correct dataset as needed by the recipient car.

If you are not aware of the term "dataset", these same output modules can be used on a wide variety of different VAG cars - the dataset is piece of software that tailors the module to a particular VAG model.

Normally when a brand-new output module is purchased, it generally does NOT have any dataset flashed into the module. The dataset must be added as a post-purchase task. Again I have no idea how the Alliexpress unit was configured (or, if it has a dataset at all).

As for the used OEM output module - was the donor car the same as this vehicle?

Maybe unplug the replacement right-side module, clear the errors and re-scan - does the 55 module auto-code the original output module (on the left side)? Also, eyeball the wiring loom for the output modules to ensure that the connectors are c0rrectly seated
