Hello,
I have recently bought a second hand mk8 in the UK and ACC is not present in the driver assist menu. The button is on the steering wheel and when pressed returns ‘ACC is not enabled’
As far as I am aware this should included as standard in the UK and not a swap item?
Any ideas why this could be the case.

Stupid answer but did you "turned on" the ACC using the O/I button ?

Yes, pressing the on button only activates speed limiter. Cruise and ACC are nowhere in any menus

Oh! So you only have Speed Limiter (like in Polo) but to be honest I didn't knew Golf would come only with speed limiter... Being a Function on Demand I'm afraid that you will not be able to activate this. I'm craving for Road Sign since 2021 and there's no way to activate it!

Acc is a SWaP feature in MQB Evo cars. You need to retrofit the radar (must be new), new clockspring, steering wheel, then purchase the SWaP and have everything coded and calibrated. Likely 1500-2500 euro (SWaP alone is 1300 euro) + must be done with dealer level diagnostic access (with access to FAZIt/GEKo aka Odis Online).

@brkika if I already have the steering wheel and I assume radar as the car has working front assist, do you have any clue why it would be missing.
If I understand correctly it should be as standard with R line trim in the UK?
Really confused by this as the car was sold to me by none VW dealer second hand as having all of these features and they are clueless as to why they are not available.

Can you make a backup of the car using OBD11 so we got an idea which CU's you have installed and what the coding is?

I think it's just like in Octavia. The radar is installed, the camera is installed but it only has traditional Cruise Control and not Adaptive Cruise Control. A whole dataset is missing and AFAIK in Skokda ACC module is missing. Also the ACC stalk is missing and even if you buy that you won't be able to activate ACC function. Ask me how I know ))) I have even try at the dealer ship and they said no, so I sold the car.

In that case (if CCS and limiter are present) it is simple - only a FEC code for the ACC SWaP is needed. The code is cca 1300 euro after which you can upload a FEC dataset to the radar module and code ACC. You can check wheather you have the FEC by long pressing the back button on the HMI (engineering menu) then navigating to the Installed codes section (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JropkBc0-C4). You should be looking for ACC relevant codes (Look here: vwcoding.ru/en/MQB/pACC/)

Hi! I solved the problem! I had the same dilemma... the car Golf Mk 8 was equipped with a radar but I couldn't find it anywhere in the ACC menu, it actually doesn't exist. I had buttons on the steering wheel for ACC but I couldn't activate it. In the end, I found out in my case, I searched in the store in the car menu, I found the option to activate ACC, the edte cost is 360 euros for an unlimited time, and New a haveit. Have a good time!
