Hi
I took my car in for a service
When it came out the start stop always defaults to ACTIVE on every engine start up .
Before i could leave it OFF and it would remember that setting without any issues.
But now every time i turn the engine off and on I have to manually press deactivate engine start stop.
Am using iOS
Thanks

hmm........... are you saying that you have a GTI GTD 2016 mk7 Golf and with OBD11 , you manged to code SS on this car so that it would remember the last setting? This means that if you left SS switched-ON on the previous ignition, SS would remain switched-ON on the next ignition with the previous coding!
This can NOT be correct!! The tweak for SS does NOT remember the previous setting - it simply disables SS entirely!! AFAIK, the ONLY way to remember the last SS setting is by fitting an external electronic device to the car (it is installed across the SS switch on the console)

Sorry for the confusion. I meant to say that my car originally had it as standard ( it would remember the last setting , ie if start stop was set to OFF it would remain like that forever. ) After the garage took it for a service i imagine they updating the settings . Anyhow I just bought the one click option for start stop which as you stated permanently keeps it off.

AFAIK, NO (in capital letters for emphasis) MQB platform car like a Golf mk7/mk7.5 was ever factory built for any market on this lonely blue planet with the ability to remember "the last setting". Again AFAIK, to disable SS on ALL mk7s/mk7.5s, the driver ALWAYS had to manually press the button on the center console after each ignition cycle (regardless of the SS setting on the previous ignition). If this car had a SS memory function, it would have had to have been modified after dealer delivery by installing a non-OEM control device from a third-party! So, put simply, If you purchased this mk7 as a new vehicle - it could NOT have had a SS memory function (again, no offense intended)!
