Hello,

I have trouble connecting obd eleven using my android phone with my new octavia facelift (2024/6). I have the next gen device, I have no subscription at the moment.

Issue I have:
- Using regular app, I get in a loop of ignition pop-up, then I get to put in my VIN and empty select model appears, so I am not able to connect
- Using VAG app I get one prompt for ignition, if I select continue, it asks me what car am I connecting to and then proceeds to connect after about five minutes. However, most modules are not accessible and when I try to open any one click app, I get infinite ignition prompt

Things I have done/tried so far:

- using either regular or VAG app
- engine on or off
- bonnet open or closed
- deleting all data of either app
- contacting support (so far no resolution)
- deleting the car from the garage and re adding it

I will be happy for any suggestions on what can I do besides waiting.

This car has new sfd2 protocol which is incompatible with obd11. Now it looks like you will need to sfd2 unlock every control unit for coding and adaptation. I used obd11 next gen with ios app on Golf 8.5 and was only able to backup certain control units except 03,09,13,19,75,76.
Let us know if u can at least read the control units. 👍

I am not exactly sure what does it mean to read the control units, I assume "I cannot" is the answer, given the screenshots here.

Do you think trying to unlock the SFD could fix that?

Also, is unlocking SFD warranty voiding?

I mean if you can see the information from info/faults/coding/adaptations/advanced identification.
Which looking at your photos seem to be working.
Certain control units would not allow access to reading the adaptation values. Not sure if this is a bug with obd11 or with VW.

It could be that all the control units now have sfd2 protection.
