I have a 2019 Tiguan AllSpace R-Line.
Yesterday I installed the app named "Auto Lock Upon Exit" via OdbEleven so the doors automatically lock when you exit the car. I tested the adaptation several times and all was working perfectly.
However, this morning I needed to move the car so unlocked the car as usual, moved it, jumped out with the keys in my pocket (car still running) shut the door behind me and it locked itself (as far as I know this should not happen if the car is running).
Now the really bad news, I could not unlock it again. I tried the spare key, tried using the emergency option by removing the cover on the door handle but none would work.
When pressing the unlock buttons I could see the red indicator light on the key flash.
So here I was with the car running and no way of getting inside!
In the end I called road side assistance and they were able to unlock it by using their normal method of prying the door open and hooking the unlock button.
This is a real concern as it should not happen.
Question? is this a bug with the App "Auto Lock Upon Exit" and if so does anyone know how I revert the change or where I go to check the adaptations have been applied correctly or is this a fault with the keesy central locking of the car.
Thanks in Advance
** Update **
I reproduced the issue by starting the car but this time I stayed inside, I then handed the keys to my partner who was outside the car, she closed the door and as before the doors locked and she wasnt able to unlock the car with the key fob.
I then got a warning on the dash board saying Key not found. We repeated this same process with the spare keys and got the same message. So am thinking this could be some fault with the keesy range. Thankfully we have some warranty left on the car so will be in touch with the local VW dealer tomorrow.
** Update 2 **
After so reading of the internet and the car manual, think the audible message displayed on the dashboard (as pictured) is by design, this to warn you that the key is not in the vehicle before you drive off.
Still need to work out if I can get the auto lock option to work properly and not lock us out.
