yhb123 : Hi. This has been discussed before on this forum. On a 4-valve TFSI - generation III engine (like CYFB), the Radiator outlet coolant temperature sender is called G83 and it's part of an additional cooling sub-system devoted to the exhaust emission standard for the country of sale. Not all engines have this sensor Whilst I don't know with certainty, I suspect that the measurement -48.0 °C happens for one of two reasons: - Either G83 is NOT installed in this car (because the exhaust emission standards do NOT apply)
- Or, -48.0 °C is simply a default value that appears if the coolant temperature is below a minimum threshold value. Again, my hunch (guess, really) is that the G83 cooling sub-circuit isn't operational unless the exhaust emission temperature is above a set value.
In any event, the coolant system on a TFSI engine is very closely monitored for errors - if this car has "0 faults in engine", I would not worry about the -48.0 °C reading!

hmm.............. very strange indeed!
I'm not sure how to help if there have been NO coding changes made to this car.
If the error message on the dash is permanent, try disconnecting the negative battery lead for a short time. When you replace the battery lead, expect a few errors - but these should self-clear after a short drive. Hopefully this will reset the car's diagnostic function and return everything to normal - but I'm guessing, of course!

I tried to disconnect the battery myself, but it didn't change anything
