Hello, with the help from this forum i successfully made many codings on my 2017 8vf but can't find any info about this, first my steering wheel controls don't work as soon as i turn off car (no ignition), it worked on my last car C6 4F, can't find any coding for that in 16 Steering Column, maybe it's not possible? Second, i coded rain closing windows but i noticed it's not working when windows are lowered from key (long press unlock button) working fine with door buttons, is it normal or is there something else to activate? Thanks.

a38vquattro: Hi. Yes, if you turn-off the ignition, the buttons on the steering-wheel will also turn-off. Not sure about auto rain-close, but if you long-press the unlock button, aren't you telling the car that you do NOT want auto-close to raise the fast-glass when it rains? ? Don

dv52 (Australia): Hi, so there is no way to code that controls, i know that volume knob on central console is working after i turn off car? About auto rain close, what if you lover all 4 windows just a little bit with key for air circulation and lock the car, wasn't it supposed to close them in case of rain, under any condition? Not a big deal, i'm just curious?

dv52 (Australia): Hi, so there is no way to code that controls, i know that volume knob on central console is working after i turn off car? Yes about the volume knob on the center console - but the knob is controlled by an entirely different module (the 5F module). There are indeed other switches that are kept "alive" after ignition switch-OFF on the steering wheel module (which also controls the buttons on the steering wheel). I suspect this happens in the module firmware. Module firmware is very different to the part of the module software that OBD11 can access and I'm NOT aware of any information in the public domain about how to make this change- even if you had a device that could modify firmware! About auto rain close, what if you lover all 4 windows just a little bit with key for air circulation and lock the car, wasn't it supposed to close them in case of rain, under any condition? Not a big deal, i'm just curious? In truth, I was very surprised to read in your first post that you were able to get the auto rain-close tweak to work at all!! This tweak has been notoriously unsuccessful on MQB platform cars (like your A3 8V) because the rain sensor doesn't support this function. The coding changes are accepted, but the tweak simply doesn't work. It really depends on which version rain sensor is installed on the car. Yes, if the the tweak is working properly and if you leave one, or more windows open after locking the car - the tweak is meant to wind-up the windows if the rain sensor detects water. However and as I have said - many (most?) MQB cars can't make this tweak work!! Don
