Cable-Throttle Engines
(These are engines with a physical cable between the accelerator and the throttle, but WITHOUT an ISV.)
Turn the key on but do not start the car.
Select
01 - Engine
Basic settings
Enter Group 098 (Note: Some SIMOS or Marelli ECU's use Group 001 such as ADY & AEE engines)
Drive-by-Wire (DBW) Engines
(These are engines WITHOUT a physical cable between the accelerator and the throttle.
Turn the key on but do not start the car.
Select
01 - Engine
Basic settings
Enter Group 060

There doesn't appear to be a way to specify a group number in the Engine Control Module. How can you do a TBA from the app? There's an option for "Test of the throttle valve adaptation". Is the the OBDeleven app equivalent?

I have tried throttle body alignment today and had no joy in doing much of anything with it tbh I bought this as an alternative believing it on par with Ross tech and vcds but it isn't :/

is there a fix yet? i cant adapt the TB on my 03 gti 1.8t. gives me an error and the tb just clicks

I have no knowledge on this subject did a quick google and found a youtube video that helped me a bit. According to the video it appears there are three types of TBA - NON UDS ECM with drive by cable this needs the group number 098
- NON USD ECM with drive by wire this needs the group number 060 and in the video there is mention of the noise (clicks) of the TBA being tested
- UDS ECM with drive by wire this appears to need a drop down option of Test of throttle valve adaption, this is what i did today with no errors but no feedback to say it had worked.
I do think it will help the dev team if we can confirm full details of car (year, model, location) and maybe the group number if you used one.
Has anybody managed to make this work and for my info if there is no error message how will i know that it has worked.

In my case, I'm driving a 2000 mod 1.8 APT engine. Using group 60, the TB clicks continuously with 1 sec intervals and is not stopping until i quit group 60. When first going into group 60, ch.4 immediately goes from run to error. Constant clicks follow as described above.
Seems like after this, channel 4 always error for adaptation. I'll get it to a workshop and try with vagcom. I'll post results.

Kef7878 did you evwr get to bottom of your issue. Im having exact same issue. Error message in 4 and constant clicking. Them after scan I get a throttle body error code. Pull battery and reset ecu ia only way I can clear the code but still dosnt align my throttle.

Does this work for anyone? Although I've a A6 2.4 -04, I've the same problem as the rest in this thread. Error message and constant clicking until I quit the group

Throttle Body has a constant ring at it and sounds like maybe the motors are stuck when I put my ear to it. Bought OBDII to try and do a TBA but have had no luck with either Group 60 or 98 but it does scan codes!(:?... Bought new TB but would like to do TBA before installing different TB to see if it works. Has there been any updates?

The fact that this has been years and not fixed shows how much obd11 is out for money and not to help at all.
It is pitiful that they don't respond to much of anything or help their users out.
