Hello, hopefully this is posted in the correct place.
I am giving my obdeleven pro to a friend as i have sold my vehicle. do I need to do anything to 'release' the device and activation code from my account so that my friend can register/set up the device with his own account with the same activation code?
Thanks

My understanding is the PRO License is non transferable.
When you activate your account with the activation code it is linked to your log in details, so if you are happy your friend carry's on using that login detail then you can give it to them but not sure if that is what is supposed to happen.
Otherwise you friend will need to buy a PRO license but obviously not the dongle as you have that already.
Hope that helps

I agree with Cupra280's explanation of the situation. In my case, I'm logged in to the app using my Facebook account, so it is tied to that account.

Hopefully the owners of OBDELEVEN will be reasonable and accept at least one release of the activation code from one account to another...

Not sure its being reasonable, you can sell the dongle and use the non pro version thats reasonable to me.
If you want to use pro then you should buy your own pro version, its was very clear to me when I bought it that it was a one user licence, non transferable.
This sort of thing happens in the caristaapp world where people get the Pro version free for one month, They do all the coding they can then go back to standard. Otherwise you have to pay a yearly subscription to use it, on OBD11 its a one off cost and you are done.
They even give you free credits when you log in each day, the dev team are entitled to get some financial payment for there work.
