Hi guys. . My unit broke down and Mr. Duke fixed it for me, thanks Duke Yesterday I wanted to connect Car-net to my phone Android (I have it configured correctly) and it can't find the Wi-Fi network. I have searched here, on mibwiki.one and also with OBDeleven and I can't find anything. I have something configured wrong because before it connected to the phone's WiFi. Can you help me? Regards.

Can you see your cell phone hotspot in the Settings menu?
The infotainment hotspot must not be activated, i.e. H. Either the MIB itself can act as a hotspot in the car or it can connect to another one. You can't do both at the same time.
Is the ssid set to visible in the phone?
Can other phones connect to your phone correctly via the hotspot?

Hi Falcon.
Yes, my phone is configured correctly and is visible, I have tried two phones and they both connect to my phone's shared WiFi. I don't use it as an access point (I don't know how it does it, I just want to connect it to the phone's WiFi. Before it detected and connected and now it doesn't

Now I have shared WiFi with an iPhone and Car net does not detect the network either. I have looked in the OBDeleven module 5f and I can't see if I have something configured wrong.

hello vrejas66,
Is WiFi active in the 5F under obdeleven in adjustments?
Is the WLAN item visible in the MIB Setup menu?
Is your phone hotspot found there?
Have you tried entering it completely “manually”?
What encryption does your phone use? According to a forum there may be problems with WPA3.
In order to access Car-net, a subscription is required in Germany after the trial period has expired. How about you?
Your car-net may need to be reactivated with the access key you purchased; see car-net operating instructions.
However, WiFi would have to be independent of this, only the Car-net services, such as Traffic information doesn't work.
Otherwise I wouldn't know what to do unless the MIB's WLAN is defective or not connected correctly internally.

Wlan 5Ghz is disabled. So if your wifi is 5Ghz only, Mib cannot connect.

Hello vrejas66, Have you considered Carmaffia's tip? WiFi connections are implemented in 2 frequency ranges 2.4 and 5 GHz. Your response to carmaffia's tip has nothing to do with that. 4G is the cellular standard with which your phone connects to the telephone network (for internet use). The MIB only supports 2.4 Ghz WiFi. So check in your phone under Settings - WiFi - Hotspot - Settings whether 5 GHz is activated or not. MIB needs 2.4Ghz, not 5Ghz. Some more information to help you understand: Carnet requires WiFi. WiFi works independently of Carnet. To use Carnet, at least here in Germany, a paid subscription to the services is required (approx. €90 per year). You can also find the Carnet menu in the setup menu of your MIB directly under the WiFi entry (see image 1). There are then 2 menu items under Carnet: service management and registration (see image 2). Under registration you have to enter the activation key you bought from VW (see also VW carnet instructions) and activate it according to the instructions. Only then is it possible to use the services, such as online traffic data. Under service management you can see the available services and their status. picture 3 shows my services; But I haven't activated this. “No connection” here means no WiFi connection. If it says “license expired” they are not activated. So for Carnet you need to ensure 2 things: a WiFi connection to your phone hotspot and an activated carnet. Your 5F pictures show that WiFi should be active in the MIB. However, the vehicle's hotspot must not be selected in the MIB settings. this blocks the use of the phone hotspot. You open the manual WiFi input in the WiFi menu of the settings in the MIB (see image 4). There you can manually enter the data for your phone hotspot and check whether WiFi can then be used (see image 5). Only when this is given can you activate and use carnet. If you still have no success, ask Mr. Duke if your MIB's WiFi worked for him. I don't have any more ideas. Good luck. Hi falcon. Sorry for the delay in responding.
My wifi works at 2.4Ghz and the unit died again by itself and Duke has it, when the unit returns to my hands I will try again.
Thank you so much.
EDIT:
Before the unit died the first time (I killed it) the mib connected to the Wi-Fi of my Huawei 2.4 Ghz cell phone without problems. When Duke repairs the unit I hope it connects to the wifi again without problems.
