I enabled wireless CarPlay on my 2024 q3 premium with the one click app. Everything works fine but CarPlay freezes / audio cuts out randomly. This happens every minute or so when I’m using navigation apps (sometimes more). Doesn’t matter which navigation app. When I’m listening to music and navigation is not on screen it cuts out once in a while but not too bad.
Is this normal behavior? Doesn’t seem like it should be.
I’ve noticed WiFi signal to the audi WiFi is not full bars on my phone, that gets me to think maybe the WiFi signal is not strong enough and with navigation / maps on screen higher bandwidth is required?
I’ve noticed some WiFi settings I can change like channel etc with my obd11. Has anyone messed with these?
Thanks for any help. Appreciate it.

So i got this wireless scanning software to check the signal strength. Looks like on the driver side wifi strength is around -85 db (bad) but on the passenger side (left side of passenger seat), the wifi signal strength is -67 db (good). In the cup holder around -70db (acceptable). In the wireless charging cradle it’s around -80 db (bad). It’s hard to think Audi would install such a poor powered wifi in a 2024 car. I understand my trim didn’t come with wifi turned on but the hardware is capable. Is there anyone out there who can talk about their own experience? Do i have a faulty unit? Or is this normal? Does anyone know where the actual wifi antenna is located in the first place?

I have the same issue on a Q3 Sportback 2021 model. Audio cuts out randomly. What made the situation better is to change channel on 5GHz (I set it to 165) and limit bandwidth to 20Mhz. made the situation better...but STILL same issues. Im wondering if there is any parameter to set signal strength. This would resolve the issue. (Yes, signal strength inside the car is around -85 db)
