Hello Everyone,

Model : MK7 GTI 2015 North American version Hallogen light

I have a coding problem and I was wondering that maybe someone could have the solution here, I install VLAND LED tail light (the copy of the golf R MK7,5) with the DAP Harness everything is coded and work almost well, I just have a problem when I put the reverse I have the red Fog light turning ON instead of the White Reverse light. Do you know maybe if I can change that in OBDEleven or it’s a wiring problem ?

Alex: Hi. I suspect that your problem is a wiring issue as explained below.

The reverse light on the OEM inner tail-light fittings is terminated on pin #4. As factory delivered, I understand that "Yankee" cars (i.e. North America Region-NAR model) do NOT have the rear fog-light function. So this light function must be created via extra wiring changes to the DAP harness when these tail-lights are retrofitted.

One of your countrymen has discussed how to do this modification- which you can read HERE.

Below is a copy of the wiring change from my link:

The relevant part of the diagram above for your car is pin #4 on both the left-side and right-side INNER tail-light fittings.

Notice the following on the "DMC Modified Harness":

Inner Left: pin #4 on the factory-side plug is connected to pin #5 on the tail-light side plug
Inner right: pin #4 on the factory-side plug is connected to pin #4 on the factory-side plug for the Inner Left fitting

I suspect that these changes have NOT been made on your car - albeit, you appear to have made the coding modification to implement this change.
