Ok, I fully admit I am a newbie. I've worked in the tech industry for 30 years, but new to VW and this level of coding, so many thanks in advance.
The backstory... 2015 GTI Autobahn retrofitted with 3Q0 035 844B (MIB2) unit & 6.5" screen (3G0919605H) with USB port to allow for CarPlay. Everything works exactly as expected, with the exception of the reverse camera. The camera emblem stills opens (so still getting power and signal to activate) when placed in reverse, and the camera worked fine with the original MIB1 unit.
I found another forum post that another user with the same setup (lowline rvc & 3Q0035844B MIB2 unit) worked fine after making the following change:
5F adaptation: IDE04307-ENG117712-Vehicle function list BAP-VPS_0x0B >not active -
I can see in the app where I can chance bit values via long coding, but I'm not sure exactly how to affect the change listed above. I have not upgraded to the Pro subscription (the few changes I've made to other items, I've simply used the in-app purchase for credits). Is the Pro subscription required for this change?
Thanks!

If you want to code any changes to the setup manually then you need a Pro or Ultimate license.
You can make changes using one click apps on the free app but obviously you have to pay each time you use them.

Add the Pro subscription is certainly not out of the question if it resolves my issue. Is there a guide to making this kind of change? or screen shots etc?
How does one go about making a chance like this? It doesn't read like a UNIX style command and certainly not like changing a bit value at a particular HEX address.
Thanks!

This is a very easy to use tool. You select the control unit you want to make changes to. Then you select the type of action you want to make, in your case this will be long coding. Then dependent if you are IOS or Android you will select the long coding and change the byte you want to. Check out obdeleven.proboards.com/thread/102/long-coding for an example of what it looks like. Further if you go onto youtube you will find millions of videos of long coding changes to give you a feel for what to do. Lastly you can check out support.obdeleven.com/en/ there are lots of help files to show you the application. Just type in long coding in the search bar and it will bring up the Android and IOS Help files to show you whats what. If nothing is clear just shout.

Thanks! I've found the Long Coding function in the app. After upgrading to the Pro version, I see the Adaptations function.
What I do not see however, is anything resembling the solution from the other forum post:
"IDE04307-ENG117712-Vehicle function list BAP-VPS_0x0B >not active -"
I've searched for various key items from the string above, but with no luck. I'm assuming the "5F adaptation" above is an "Adaptation" as opposed to a "long coding" in the 5F control module.
Thanks again!

Not sure if this helps, but the symptom is that when shifting into reverse, the emblem moves (as expected) to bring the camera into position, but the screen stays as is, showing whatever is being displayed, and does not go black, or show camera output.

afraid this is not my area of knowledge.
However it may be you need to look in your Adaptation section
Have a look for VPS but I would suggest you raise this query in the relevant car section so that you get expert help on the specific function.
I did a search on BAP-VPS and found a number of Golfs with this information in different places according to the age of the car.
