Hey guys, can someone help me figure out how I can get footwell and led sliders back under the car menu settings? I have a 15 mk7 and recently swapped mib to mib2 and patched it. Now I get this ambient light option which has no settings in it except a total button. And I can't adjust my interior lights with the sliders like I used to, it's missing. I tried researching and most people say change interior light parameter settings in obd11 under 09 settings, but I don't have that option in mine. Any ideas?

Deactivate Ambient light functions in 09.
Then the footwell slider returns to the lights menue.

It’s kinda strange that changing the MIB affected it as the settings are in the 09 module, the only thing I can think is your central electronics module is not compatible with your new MIB, and doesn’t have the switches needed to change what you need to change,

As the ones you have missing are the important ones
Interior light, light configuration: Ambientemenue mit alle Zonen: active Adds the “background lighting” buttons in settings- needed Interior light, light configuration: Ambient_Farbliste_HMI: active gives you the colour slider at bottom of background lighting screen- needed Interior light, light configuration: Frei_Farbwahl_ueber_HMI: active Turns off the brightness slider in the background settings screen, so not active if you wanna dim the footwell door lights

I'll do you one better, I've been looking at my previous backup history before MIB replacement and whatever changes I've made recently and I know 1000% those sliders were there before, and I can tell you those options you said to change weren't available then either. This is a real head scratcher isn't. I've attached a backup from 2019 I had you can see for yourself. Attachments:09 backup-04-13-2019.txt (542.48 KB)

beelz : With the forbearance of my fellow forum member ( vwjap ) - maybe try telling the 09 module that ambient footwell lights are installed (because currently the 09 module does NOT believe that these lights are installed on this car) Try changing Byte 17, Bit 3=1 (Ambiente_Fussraum, installed) on the long-code string for the central electrics module - this should result in the 09 module telling the MIB to display the slider screen (I hope/think) Don

first thanks to both of you for trying to help me out i assume that means footwell lights which is already checked, what I found interesting while going through it, under byte 05, there is a footwell lights option also which was UNCHCKED, i checked it saved... still nothing. The lights work by the way.

The lights work by the way. hmm....... this is the long-code string from your back-up file:
Byte Hex Binary 00 00 00000000 01 11 00010001 02 0A 00001010 03 46 01000110 04 40 01000000 05 41 01000001 06 A2 10100010 07 E9 11101001 08 69 01101001 09 E4 11100100 10 40 01000000 11 00 00000000 12 00 00000000 13 14 00010100 14 07 00000111 15 20 00100000 16 18 00011000 17 00 00000000 18 00 00000000 19 00 00000000 20 00 00000000 21 00 00000000 22 00 00000000 23 00 00000000 24 00 00000000 25 00 00000000 26 00 00000000 27 00 00000000 28 00 00000000 29 00 00000000
Remember that on Binary numbers, the right-most digit is Bit 0 and the left-most digit is Bit 7
Do NOT set Byte 05, Bit 7=1
Do set Byte 17, Bit 3=1 - as I suggested in my last post

I don't have vehicle menu operation, however there's car_function_adaptations_Gen2 and those two are under it and activated already

alas No (maybe try resetting the MIB - hold down the ON/OFF button until the MIB turns-OFF, then ON again)
