Hello,
I’m having trouble with the ESP light coming on after a battery change (cable hook-up in reverse order btw (negative first then positive) – not by me). While changing the battery a vacuum hose was damaged and has since been replaced.
Short snippet below from complete scan.
Ran ESP driving test through OBD11 and it completed without errors. ESP button on dashboard not lit up and nothing happens when pressing it.
Accessing brake module and attempting basic settings just gives me error “(11) Function not available.” Tried Coding II and it says something like “invalid security access code. “ Tried all the usual access codes I’ve found through different forums, no success.
Checking live data for break pressure sensor while not pushing the pedal gives a value, pressing the pedal naturally gives a larger value, but it freezes at that value. Slight modulation of pressure does not change live reading. Intermittently the values are not displayed at all but instead you get something like “not available”.
Checking live data for engine RPM for example is updatet in real time, continuously and instantaneously. Not so for break pressure. Tried graphing all four wheel speed sensors (under 20 kph at all time) and same thing, suddenly no reading at all from any of the wheel speed sensors. Almost as if the input signal is dropped.
Questions:
Is the “(11) Function not available” because incorrect SA code, some malfunction in the brake module system in the car, is the car too old for OBD11, or something else entirely perhaps?
If incorrect SA code, what is the correct code? How to I find out?
Is it possible that there is an electrical fault which causes intermittent dropping of data from the brake module/ABS system?
I’m trying to narrow this down, and could really need some help.
Thanks in advance.
