Hello People!
Is there a way to check how many times launch control was activated/used for MK8?

Art1990 :Hi. Based on the information in my MQB-evo platform database, cars with a 5WA chassis have the following 3 x measurement channels in the 02 Transmission module: Launch control counter-upshift 1-2 Launch control counter-upshift 2-3 Launch control counter-upshift 3-4
So, go to 02 Transmission on the Control Units screen - scroll-down and select Live Data - enter "launch" into the search box.

Hello Thank you for the reply! Unfortunately, in the live data, there is no information about launch or anzahl. Car info : Golf Mk8 GTI Clubsport 2021

Art1990 : I can't say with absolute certainty - but I very much doubt it. I've used both VCDS and OBD11 (and VCP) for many years albeit since I chose to leave the Ross-Tech forum because of Uwe Ross's ultra right-wing stance on US gun culture - I tend to favor OBD11!
Anyhow, my experience with both diagnostic devices is that they simply read whatever the module is programmed to measure - meaning that neither device will hide measurements if the readings are available from the module!
Nevertheless, I guess that there could be a software glitch thingy with OBD11 and the newer mk8s -low probability, but I don't know!!
Of course the decision is entirely yours!!! If you do try VCDS - I'd welcome details of your findings, please.

Thank you for your input and help!
At the meantime, I do not own Ross thingy and do not feel like using a VCDS knock- off. Have to find somebody who owns it or make a purchase myself. Either way if I got round to VCDS, I would post an update here.
Cheers!

Hey! Still looking for somebody to lend me a genuine VCDS to check in advanced measuring values (pure curiosity) However, I have found some way to get a rough idea how many times the launch control was potentially activated. In module 03 Brakes- Live data – “Number of requested start processes” says how many times ESP function was deactivated. The way I understand, to activate the launch control ESP has to be fully off. Hence, this value is being recorded in the data above. Did a small test- tried to deativate ESP during OBD11 reading the mentioned number got updated. Example of mine (at least 4 times I deactivated myself )

Art1990: Hmm........ I do understand the science of your reasoning - but without intending any offense, it suffers from an underlying assumption that ESC was switched-OFF for launch control ONLY (IMO, of course)! In the theory of deductive logic (and in mathematics speak) - I suspect that your hypothesis is what's called "a necessary - but not sufficient condition" So yes, maybe your metric is a kind-of surrogate for the real thing - but it does have it's limitation (again, no offense intended and once more, IMO) Don

Here's an update on the topic. I got my hands on an original VCDS (took me 5 months to get it) to check the number of launches done by my car. It says 'Anzahl Launch Control Anfahrt – 0,' which is not accurate. I have activated the launch control once myself, so it should show at least one activation registered.
