Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to disable the low beams with coming/leaving home lights? This is on my 2022 Audi A3 Limousine 40 TFSI Quattro. The only thing I could find on the internet is a old post from 2017 from Don. If you are reading this Don; I need your expertise! Currently when I unlock the vehicle the low beams turn on. I would like to know if it is possible to have only the DRL's turn on? Of course the low beams should turn on when I switch on the ignition after having gotten into the car and it actually being dark outside. Here is a video of how it currently looks: The low beam in the middle comes on last, but I would like for it to not turn on at all. Only if I actually start driving / turn the ignition on and it is actually dark outside.

Hmm............ not sure that I can be of much help! Your MY22 A3 has a MQB-evo platform - whereas my information is mostly about MQB platform cars (the "evo" bit makes a significant difference) Both platform cars have a bunch of Leuchte-sets in the central electrics modules albeit the structure in 8Y/GY models is a tad different. And both platform cars use these Leuchte-sets to control exterior lamps.
However, towards the latter series of MQB models- VAG made a major change to how headlight lamps operated. In essence, the design of newer headlight fittings started to become self controlled - rather than being controlled by the central electrics module (via Leuchte-sets). These design changes introduced a new set of modules called Light Control Modules (LCMs) which are ostensibly self contained devices devoted specifically to the way that the headlight lamps operate. LCMs replaced the old headlight "output modules" and they are connected to the extended CAN bus.
So, what does this mean for your question - I hear you ask? Well, if you look at the low-numbered Leuchte-sets on this car (which traditionally are associated with the headlight lamps) - I suspect that you will find that they are ALL factory disabled!! And if you look at a SCAN - it will most likely report modules at address D6 and D7. These are the MQB-evo platform equivalent LCMs
Bottom-line = OBD11 (and VCDS) can NOT change the way that the headlight lamps operate on cars that have LCMs - alas!!

Hi Don! Thank you so much for your time and detailed answer! That's a bummer to hear, but I can live with the low beams being on I guess. I've already gotten used to manually switching to DRL's during the day. Another thing I want to change is the sensitivity of the light sensor. I want it to think it's dawn during the day so that the unlock animations always do their thing when unlocking/locking (only does it when it's dark outside). Do you have any idea if this is possible? It seems that no matter which adaptation's lux value I change the behavior just stays the same. However, when I cover the light sensor with my hand and unlock the car the animations do work! It's not like I can just duct tape the sensor off either, since it's in the glass and would look extremely ugly if I just stick it onto the glass!

meap: I was involved in a bunch of discussions regarding this matter HERE. As you will read -the dialogue was for MQB platform cars - but your MQB-evo vehicle uses exactly the same engineering design principles for light-sensor control of the headlights (i.e. hysteresis) and it uses a similar (smaller) set of Adaptation channels in the central electrics module,
Maybe the suggestions in the link might work on your newer car (worth a try IMO)

dv52: Thank you. I'll give that thread a try. I did try to tinker around with the "Light sensor" adaptation but was unable to write any changes to any of the values, even with SFD unlocked. If I recall correctly (but I am not 100% sure) it said something along the lines of "channel unavailable" I will try again some time this week. I have to visit the Audi dealership tomorrow for a "Selection lever: fault" I've been driving around with for a week now. Which is quite a funny story, my previous A3 Sportback had had the exact same fault and they replaced something under warranty. Well they're doing that again now! Must be some sort of design flaw they've fixed later on. Audi Dealership mechanic said it's a fault in either a sensor in the selection lever or a micro mechanism and will run diagnostics on it and replace the part under warranty if necessary. Everything still works as it's supposed to though, just annoying beeeeeep every time I get in/out of the car! Haha
