Hello,

first of all sorry for my bad english.

I changed the coolant of my Passat B8 (2018, 2.0 TDI Bluemotion with an auxiliary heater) and now i have to bleed the cooling system.

I took the same steps i always take with VCDS and with OBD11 it didn´t work for me, so i need your help.

In VCDS you have the following steps:

- Stop engine, Ignition on

- Temperatur should be around 60 Celsius

- Deactivate Start/Stop

- Deactivate A/C Air Cooling

- If you have an auxiliary heater turn of for round about 30-45 Sek. then deactivate

- Go to 01 Engine

- Security Access: 27971

- Adapation > bleed the cooling system > set on active - wait 10 seconds

Start the engine/motor

- Go to Basic Setting > bleed the cooling system

- Start and you will get following instructions:

ca. 6 min. Idle/Free wheel > ca 2 min. 2500 RPM > ca 2min 3000 RPM > 6 min. Idle/Free Wheel

You will get the info "succesfull finished"

Klick on "Stop" to end and your car is ready.

I take the same steps with OBD11:

- Stop engine, Ignition on

- Temperatur should be around 60 Celsius

- Deactivate Start/Stop

- Deactivate A/C Air Cooling

- If you have an auxiliary heater turn of for round about 30-45 Sek. then deactivate

- Go to 01 Engine in the App

- go to Security Access: 27971

- go to Adapation > bleed the cooling system > set on active - wait 10 seconds

Start the engine/motor

- Go to Basic Setting > bleed the cooling system

Then i swipe right to start. The swipe button stays on the right side (red) BUT you get no further instructions from OBD11 what you have to do now.

What am i missing? Or do i have to do things differently on OBD11.

I am dissapointed at the moment with OBD11.

I hope you guys can help me out.

So, figured it out myself:

In my case (CRLB engine, 2.0 TDI, 150 HP) it was necessary to press both brake pedal and accelerator pedal after starting the procedure and KEEPING them pressed down all the time. If you let go the brake pedal while the procedure is running, it stops because of "safety reasons".

The procedure goes as following when done correctly:

- The engine runs in idle for about 5 minutes, engine light is blinking. Nothing else happens.
- After 5 minutes, the engine turns up to about 2500rpm, keeps it for about 30 seconds.
- Then it goes to 3000rpm and keept it for another 30 seconds or so.
- Then it falls back to 1000upm and stays there for another minute or so.

After that, you get the message "Basic setting succeeded".

I bear no guarantee for these instructions. Proceed at your own risk!

So it is possible with OBD11, however, the devs should update this function to give the user clear instructions. It took me hours to figure it out myself.
