There is a bright white LED in the centre cup holder area. It doesn't seem to be controlled in the same way as the LEDs in the door pockets. The door pocket lights change colour with ambient lighting and their brightness can be adjusted. I see nothing in the settings for the cupholder light, but on another forum I've heard that someone with a 2021 GTI has been able to control it. I wonder if the car has the ability and OBDeleven can tap in to that feature and sync with how the door colour/brightness is set?
