Does anyone know if it is possible to disable the message one gets with a 6MT car (2024 S 380) that says ATTENTION: Parking brake is not activated when shutting the car down to exit? Quite annoying, I’m quite aware of when I’m setting the parking brake, such as on a hill, and when I’m not, such as when parking on a flat area. Don’t we all just leave it in 1st gear then after shutting down? Appreciate any info on this! Randy

I suspect that I'll just need to start searching around in various modules, both in Adaptations and Long coding. Anyone know which module is likely to control this function?

Spent about an hour looking both in Adaptations and Long coding in all modules, no luck.

Hi Randy:
My guess is that there is no provision anywhere to suppress that message. Cars with automatic transmissions get a similar message (put transmission in Park) if the vehicle is not put in park before shutting down.
There are a bunch of similar messages that will appear, for example, if the ignition circuit is powered but the engine is not running and one turns the headlights off, a message appears "Please turn the headlights on". That's a bit of an irritant when one is working on the car with the ignition circuit on and the engine off, but there is nothing that can be done to suppress it.

Thanks Michael, I've come to the same conclusion. Time to move on to the next nanny message!
