I have a 2021 VW Passat NMS. Currently the Lane Assist function defaults to on every time you start the car. I would like to have an App that allows me to reset the default to either Off or last setting., so that when I restart the car the Lane Assist will remain the same as when I last shut the car off.

I tested today resetting to “Memory”, but it does not change the function. I will try resetting to off and give you more feedback.

I see that you tried with engine running, please read descriptions before activating apps.

Hello again - I tried this morning to reset to off position. The app would not work at all. It kept giving me a message that said:
“Check ignition and try again”. I am not sure what this is telling me to do or how to do it. It gave a red circle with a bar through the center. I am not sure what is happening. It is still showing the current value as “Memory” but does not work.

I just saw your new message. I actually tried with the ignition on and the engine running. Neither way worked., and now I keep getting the error message “about checking the ignition.
Can you be more specific with what I might be doing wrong or how to do this. I read everything over and over and beyond engine running or not I thought I was doing everything correctly. Also when first opening the Lane Assist app, it says not supported. Until turning the ignition on and opening the hood, then it allows me to try and use it.

Hello - I tried once again to run the App. Here are the steps I followed:
1. Plug in the scan tool
2. Press Connect
3. Select OBDeleven Scan tool
4. Select Passat
5. Wait for connection to be completed
6. Select Apps
7. Select Lane Assist App
8. Read all directions
9. Press Ignition Switch (Without starting the car)
10. Activate the app
11. Select memory
12. Activate the change
At this point the app showed completion of the change. I then selected Home, Disconnect,
and removed the scan tool, closed the hood,
Then tested to see if it worked - It did not work
Any thoughts or help would be appreciated

I have completed two full backups. The earlier one was with the ignition on and the later one was with the ignition off. I did not know if this mattered or not. Also I messaged you with the VIN number and a question in regard to how you will get to the backups.
