Hi all
As the title says my golf mk7 wagon keeps flashing its hazards and my trunk LEDs for the licenseplate as if im unlocking/locking my car long after having locked the car... for maybe 10 mins after leaving it. this has been going on for a week or two now.
Faults stored in ecu after scan shows:
Lock unit for central locking Implausible signal Fault code: B122D29 Status: Intermittent Date 2023-11-24 14:13:38 Mileage 84067 km Priority 3 Malfunction frequency counter 1 Unlearning counter 64
And to active protector function Fault code: B202300 Status: Intermittent Date 2023-11-23 18:26:14 Mileage 84067 km Priority 1 Malfunction frequency counter ( Unlearning counter 64 Terminal 15 status Off Terminal 50 status Connected 4
I have taken off the interior doors and visualy inspected the lock acutator and it was a little bit wet but nothing alarming... and the only problems is as described above with hazards and the trunklights flashing.
Anybody thats got a clue about what my next Step is? Or is the problem not even located with my driver door? Can this be from infotainment/previous coding error/ hatchlock faults or driver door module actually beeing oopsed and its fooling me with the acutator for the door lock fault? PS car is KESSY keyless also and ive changed the battery in the fob and the cars battery is fully charged also.
Any ideas are really helpful.

@golfwagan:Hi.
I'm not sure that I understand your words: - Are the lamps involved in this odd behavior the front and rear turn-signals and ONLY the license plate lamp (or are other lamps also involved) ?
- Does the problem happen ONLY when you lock the car - or at other times too- please be specific
- Is the license-plate lamp and the other tail-light lamps original to the car, or did you retrofit LEDs
- Why do you say "my trunk LEDs for the licenseplate" - isn't there only ONE lamp for the license-plate on this car?
- Has this car been modified - again, please be specific?
- What build year is this car - what country?
Please provide a complete (meaning unedited) copy of the SCAN report (as an attachment) - so we can see how this car was built
Try clearing the error - do the faults re-appear?

Hi don! Sorry no the hazards are acting just like they do when i lock the car but instead of just once like usual when pressing keyfob they flash every 15-20 seconds after locking the car like if i would have locked it again even tho i havent... and the lights are all stock lighting and have not been alterd since i got the car and no coding has been done to them either... When i clear the codes they dissapear but after next keycycle and when i lock the car the problem start all over again... They seem to also be draining my batteryvoltage after having been flashing on and off all night. Very strange behaivior. And no its just the hazards (indicators front and back plus the licenseplate lights that keep flashing no other lights do this) and that is as usual but they continue flashing on and off so i have had to resort to not locking my car so the battery doesnt drain out completely. I did pull the lock acutator out today on drivers side and found that it was wet from som water that most likely have leaked in thru the drivers side doorlock so maybe its related to my problems that water has screwed with my lockacutator and braking it...

@golfwagan: hmm......... yes indeed very odd behavior - still, sometimes fault descriptors with the term "implausible" do result in strange phenomenon.
That said, the car's own self diagnostics is indicating a problem with the central locking system - so your finding of water ingress on the driver's door seems to be a good starting point. Eyeball the status of the wiring loom, the connectors and the solenoid for the actuator for signs of damage and replace/repair where necessary,

Hi golfwagwan Did you ever find a resolution to the flashing indicators when locked issue? I have a UK spec R estate with a similar issue, I never noticed it until I activated acoustic acknowledgement when locking, and only had the car for a week beforehand. Edit: in case this helps anyone else. After a lot of self-diagnosis and focusing on door modules/a potential water damaged BCM, my particular issue was with an aftermarket LED boot light unit. There was no specific fault logged, but I did observe some text within a fault in the BCM. ‘Pin A53 heckklappe vorraste’ which related the the grounding of the boot light. I took the LED unit out, and following an overnight of no issues, put the original light unit back. No random indicator flashes every few minutes have occured since. Thanks

Thx restate67, Had the same issue on my 2015 mk7 sportwagen. Had replaced the trunk light with an led a while back. Once I replaced it with an original vw part, the lock flashing light action stopped. For me it was happening every 4 minutes after initial locking.
