Hi Guys, Sorry if this has been asked a thousands times before, can you adjust the drl brightness when in sidelight mode, on a s3 8v 2014 with xenon and rainsensor. Read about scandi mode, but dont want the rear lights on all the time.
Cheers in advance.

Gaz: Hi.
By "adjust the ...brightness" - I assume you mean "increase the brightness".
There is a very good reason why the Parking Lights illumination is dimmed as a factory setting on this car - it's because the reflectors in the DRL LED strips on your A3 have NO cut-off characteristics. This means that they can blind drivers of on-coming cars at night-time.
If you want to proceed, post-up screenshots of Leuchte2SL VLB10. To be clear, I need to see ALL 19 x adaptation channels in your screenshots

Nice one Don, will sort that out. Already done the brightness with headlights on, just couldn't find the setting for side lights.
Cheers

Gaz: agin, Hmmm,,,,,,,,,,,,,,? Alas while there certainly is lots of screenshots on your Google-drive, I can only see the values up to Lichtfunktion F on Leuchte 2, 3, 4 and 5 - so I don't know the full story.
Please don't take offense because none is intended - but your coding of the DRL Leuchte-sets is very innovative!! I'm not sure that I understand how exactly you want the DRL LED strips to operate!!
Please describe what happens to the DRLs on this car when the rotary light switch is in
- position = side-lights, and
- or AUTO position and it's night-time outside
- when the lights for Coming/Leaving Home operate
And before I make a suggested changes - please post-up screenshots the rest of Leuchte 2, 3, 4 and 5
And finally - what country is this?

Hi Don, rest of settings below. drive.google.com/drive/folders/1okSfLY6cBqJryCPcJe20v89jP3nJZfgfI have only changed the drl brightness with low beam on, I know previous owner has been fettling in there before hand. So Auto and Low beam are fine, I have adjusted that, I am in the uk, so when I have the lights in side light setting, the drls dim, I wanted to adjust that setting to make them brighter. Cheers Gaz

Gaz: OK - the additional screenshots clarifies stuff enormously!! First: If this was my car, I would correct the coding in Leuchte4TFL LB4 and Leuchte5 TFL RB32 by replacing Dimmwert AB and Dimmert CD values with 127! Second: As factory set - the illumination level when the rotary light switch is in the position is the same as when the low-beam lights are turned-ON. The fundamental design assumption is that both switch positions will be used after-dark - so the same illumination levels is appropriate (I think)! However, by adding Lichtfunktion C > Standlicht vorn (Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht) to Leuchte 4, 5 - this tie is broken. Making this change energizes the power supply for the LED strips in the DRL whenever the position is selected. But Leuchte 2, 3 has not been told how to dim the LED strips when the position is selected!! The problem with this car is that there are NO spare Lichtfunktion pairs available in Leuchte 2, 3 to make this change!! So, the decision is yours - either: - Abandon the pursuit to have a different illumination level for and the low-beam/nighttime-AUTO positions
- if so, change Lichtfunktion C > nicht aktiv in Leuchte 4, 5 and the illumination level for the DRLs as side-lights should be the same as when the low-beam lights are turned-ON
- Or, choose one of the existing lighting functions to delete for the DRL strips - maybe Coming/Leaving Home?
- if so, replace the Leuchte-command with Standlicht vorn (Positionslicht; Begrenzungslicht) and select a suitable Dimmwert value

Hi Don.
Thanks for that, appreciate you spending the time to take a look. I changed the setting to 127 as advised.
Changed to night Active. But that on its own made no difference, so I need to find the setting that controls the coming home lights as you said and apply that setting, and adjust brightness the usual way, keep you posted.
Cheers
