Hello! I currently have a CEL due to my catless downpipe. I am able to "clear" the faults in the mobile app, however the CEL remains active on the dash, and the fault reappears after refreshing within the app as well.
Does anyone know why this happens?

carson: Hi. The reason why the error clears from OBD11 (temporarily) and not from the dash is because the fault is still active. When you press "clear" on OBD11- you force the entry in module fault memory to delete. However and depending on the relative polling-sequence between the car's OBD diagnostic function and the car's internal process for the CEL - if the fault is still active, you observations are entirely normal! Bottom line - the underlying fault is still active, so the error message is still active!! Don

Thanks for the heads up! Is OBD Eleven capable of resetting/clearing the fault altogether, even temporarily?
The CEL essentially disables my Launch Control, however my shop was able to reset the light a few times during service. I am curious if this device is can perform such a task.

carson : Alas no - I don't believe that ANY diagnostic device (regardless of manufacturer) is able to clear an actual active fault (as distinct from clearing a fault message), other than if the error is a calibration issue that can be resolved via a Basic Setting procedure The OBD diagnostic function that OBD11 uses is designed to be reactive - meaning that the challenge/response process for polling modules is responsive to the module's recognition that an actual fault is active.
The normal mandatory sequence for clearing error messages using the OBD diagnostic function is to first fix the fault. Don
