Does anybody know if it is possible to code the blind spot detection into a passive thing. In other words I mean, that I like to use the active lane assist feature (set to early intervention), though I am not in favor of the blind spot enabled with this. When activating this it prevents me after overhauling returning quick enough into the other lane. Though the LED is handy to help you indicate there is something there, so can I code out only the active intervention and leave the LED in the side mirrors active? Thanks, Andre

sleurio : Hi - excellent question!! OK - let's start by making sure that we are both on the same page!!
BSM uses separate rear-facing radars on each car-side. OBD11 identifies these units at address 3C and CF on the CAN network.
So, does this car have "Pre-Sense" activated? If so - maybe set Byte 0, Bit 1 =0 on the long-code string for both modules

The BSD is not able to participate in PreSense. This feature is avaliable with the SideAssist line of rear radars.
I think to disable the the vibration you can disable the blind spot detection in the A5 camera.

newty : Thanks for the information. I must admit that I was scratching my head about this question. I couldn't quite understand what part of BSD OP was wanting to suppress.
I note your suggestion about disabling the vibration function - but I'm not sure this is the annoying facility that is the subject of this thread. If it is - the software switch to disable vibration is Byte 13, Bit 1=0 on the A5 module (if the module doesn't allow vibration enable/disable via the MENU)

There is also a vibration codeable when the adaptive line guidance is making an active steering but the curve is either too long or gets too sharp. (Function availiability depends on software and dataset)
It is disabled in my "example" cars, yet, they have "BSD plus" and the therefore the vibration when leaving a detected lane while rear traffic is detected.
But yes, this would also be worth a try in case disabling watching the BSD messages does not help
